Nas just blessed us with a great album, Kelis and the IRS lit a fire under him, in all honesty I can't think of another rapper thats been in the game this long that is dropping music at a high level like this, only one that comes a bit close is Jay, but BP3 has been cupholder status. Queens story is

yeah jay comes the closest, but jay has kinda went the same route as ll cool j when he was still hot after 15+ years. it aint all about lyrics no more with jay and ll, it was about hot singles and making the charts. jay stop caring about lyrics way back on black album. although american gangster he did deliver them bars

past that jay aint been no different then gucci mane.

nikka nas still hot, and lyrically showing he the best to ever do it. em come close but he got to go about 3-5 more studio albums on fire and lets face it his production will probably never get there so thats what kills him.

To me Em is nowhere near Nas status, not close at all, I can see myself as a 50-60 year old man listening to Nas, and Pac, I'm 23 and can't even listen to Em, I outgrew his music when I was like 15, I still think Jay is great but its like at times he doesn't care because his sheep will eat it up, we both share the same views on that. That song "Stay" is :noah: it should be like 10 minutes long lol

Of the 18 songs the only 2 I really don't like at all are the one with Mary J and Summer on Smash....and even those aren't that bad......

yea, the grand groove piano has been used so much i think im good with that. might be the most used sample in hip hop history

the Swizz track has a weak melody, not sure why he continues to use dude when he never gets the best out of him

:shaq2: Come on man... nikkas always gotta throw that dude under the bus in the most outlandish ways just to big Nas up. Gucci Mane, bruh? Stop that.

That said, I like this album... alot. Best Nas album since Stillmatic.

There's some joints where I wish a drum would drop in that shyt, i.e. "World's An Addiction" cause he's killin' it, but with no beat in it, it might as well be an acapella.

I think Nas has tried to resurrect that old-school-but-new feel for years, and it finally clicked 100%. Them joints like "Reach Out" and "You Wouldn't Understand" woulda been right at home on IWW. The joint with Amy Winehouse is just soul, he has the nostalgic songs like "LocoMotive" and "Back When"... he just DID IT on this album. The more I listen to the album, the more I like it... which hasn't happened for me w/ a Nas album for a long time. Usually happens the other way around but this time? He's soundin' rejuvenated. I damn near feel like Kelis was drainin' this nikka's life force, cause she's gone and he's back to droppin' heat.

Em shouldn't even be in that discussion. Honestly, dude is a waste of talent. He hasn't had an album with replay value since 2002.
