Nobody, literally nobody, mentions "Hood2Hood." I don't even mention it and it was one of my favorite songs when the album dropped. It's a perfect song that gets overshadowed by a bunch of other great songs.

I always wanted to know what Hit-Boy was thinking when he made that beat. The way it sounds when Nas says "D.C. got big old guns, ATL got big old guns" gives me chills every time I listen to it. :wow:

I think if hood 2 hood had a singer on the hook, it could have been a smash summer record. That song rides perfectly.

He should get it. It would be a full circle moment, especially with everything he did for hip hop 50.

I have this feeling they might give it to Killer Mike cause hes campaigning hard and he actually topped these best of list.

KD 3 I think is the best album from the nominations but its either Mike or they go safe with Metro and Travis.

Just because you campaign doesn’t guarantee a win. The Grammys have a formula when it comes to the rap categories and unfortunately neither Nas nor Mike fit that formula, if either of them win it would break every unstated but consistent “rule” that Grammy voters have followed in the rap field.

I’m holding out hope for Nas because i’m hoping that with Hip Hop 50 the voters take into account what Nas has done all year to celebrate the art-form, progress the art-form, and give the traditional pillars of the art-form their flowers. Nas put a LOT of money into his peers pockets last year and the Grammys are (outside of the rap field) as much about narrative as they are quality if the work. Nas has the NARRATIVE to win but we’ll see.

Either way it’ll be interesting. I hope Mike wins Best Rap Song because I definitely think he deserves SOMETHING

Well to be fair as great as magic 2 and 3 are, they were basically overkill and weren't better than kd3. Magic 2 was a let down compared to the previous work at first (I appreciate it much better now) so I can't really retract my words. It was a good thing they came out shortly after with Magic 3 to close their series which was a little bit better

Now I'm still glad that m2 and m3 exist cause there's a lot of great tracks between them two but yeah at a certain point the nas and hit boy formula started to stale and I'm glad they didn't try to push it further
