I’ll agree with this. This isn’t a hot take at all

Nastradamus downfall compared to KD1 is the sequencing, and just the obvious filler weak tracks. But yes, the highs are higher and had peak level Nas.

Only glimpse of real Nas on KD1 was The Cure, Full Circle, a couple other moments. He was on cruise control most of the album if we keep it a buck

That’s part of the reason why it’s disrespectful to compare the other King’s Diseases to KD3. KD1 was a good album, KD2 was very good, Magic was great, this is a masterpiece

A lot of the mid 2000s projects were head scratchers then, and even more so now that he’s found this 3rd prime lol…

This is what a lot of people were campaigning for post God Son. I mean you still have a certain demographic that will always want illlmatic 2023 with the same exact producers, features, and 10 tracks.

But KD series + Magic is unprecedented. It’s right there with Ghostface’s Fish Scale, Scarface’s M.A.D.E. And Emeritus, Snoop’s Blue Carpet Treatment but we got more quality music in the shortest time span. Nas used to be “Mr 2 years off” maybe more.

@up in here by the way, that critique was not a slight.

Despite the mid 2000s offerings, his pen was still sharp as ever. There are jawns I like from Street’s Disciple through Distant Relatives/LFIG that I love.

I knew he was still that nikka when he went to work on “Triple Beam Dream”. I still revisit that record like I revisit jawns of Illmatic and It Was Written.

Only one of those Nastradamus songs is an argument and that's "Project Windows" and would be a better fit on the KD albums than surrounded by a lot of the mediocrity on Nastradamus. "Last Words" is crazy, but have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. "Family" is the worst of the Nas/Mobb collabs. Never really felt that song like that. "Come Get Me" is cool, but is a bottom tier Nas/Premo track. "Life We Chose" is cool, but it isn't better than the KD series or Magic.

I really like that era nas but no bro....the only song here that is better than any hit boy nas song is project windows...and thats debatable even...that nas lauren song prolly the top
