NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
only things I don't like about the album:

- the Em verse (skip it every single time)... and I also like Nas' lyrics on the pt1 track better, but it was cool to have EPMD on it
- Peter Popoff
- long intros on some tracks, I loved on KD1 how Nas would just go right in and I think I heard HB mention that's what he wanted Nas to do

actually I would've just put EPMD2 and YKTV as bonus tracks

also I remember when this first came out everyone was claiming that Nas wrote for Lauryn Hill (which I think is bullshyt)...

but nobody mentions how obvious it is that Nas wrote Hit-Boy's verse?
Hit Boy been rapping forever bruh. I don’t think Nas wrote that.

Yktv is a banger. Epmd is probably my least favorite Nas floated though. Song still ain't bad though.

but has HB ever rapped that well before?

I dunno for me it sounds like Nas, but I have no proof

I love YKTV, it just doesn't feel right with the flow of the album

it's in between Rare and Store Run... if they had put that after Nas is Good, like Spicy was after The Cure, I think it would've hit harder... matter of fact, I know it hits harder that way, because I reconfigured the track list order that way haha

That's a great song. But it feels more mellow and relaxing even though Nas is saying some hard shyt on it.

"Play on Playa" has the same feeling.
Hold Down The Block got a harder beat than Let There Be Light tho. Which u added. Lol. nikkas did freestyles to that beat back then.

"Hold Down The Block" is underrated. One of the better beats on that album and I think this was Batson's first beat on a Hip Hop album that wasn't co-produced with Dr. Dre. It's the type of song I wish Nas would've made with Dre. Like, "Hustlers" is cool, but if Nas would've had something like "Minority Report", "Boss's Life", "Cocaina" or "Imagine" from that era, that would've potentially been some incredible music.

the problem with bonus track is while they're at the end because they don't belong with the album flow they prevent the listener to end the album on a greater note. I wished kd would end with the cure, not spicy. and nas is good is the perfect closure to kd2. I'm not trying to hear kdtv after that

I have no problem with yktv being where it's at because the earliest joints on kd2 are on a more modern vibes. It would have been odd if they placed it after store run and so on

personally, I think if a track fukk up the flow of an album, no matter how good it is, leave it outside the album, unless it got a great single potential.

and even that, we are on the streaming era, so you could drop the track independently like they did with epmd. that way it's not on the album and don't disturb the flow of the main piece but it would still be part of the album roll out

Really? I don't hear it. They're both great songs, but "Hold Down the Block" has always been :wow: to me, while "Let There Be Light" has always been :damn: to me.

Then again, Kanye produced "Let There Be Light" so maybe that's why you prefer the drums on "Hold Down the Block."
