Mike the Executioner
What went on up there? Poppers and weird sex!
Nas's flow is better on KD2 imo. Seemed like he was rushing on some of the songs on LIG. On some songs it worked like Queens Story or Nasty. But 2021 Nas would do more justice to stuff like Reach Out and No Introduction where it felt like he didn't need to be on 10. Nas's flow on Death Row East is sharper to me than most of LIG and closer to how he was effortlessly killing shyt on Godson.
Honestly the pockets Nas is finding on KD2 is one of the best things about it to me.
I kinda see what you mean, like the second verse of "Reach Out" is great but the flow moves so quickly, you might not catch everything he's saying. I don't think it's a problem because Life is Good had Nas take a similar approach with his flow/delivery that he did on Street's Disciple, only not as aggressive and pissed off. He had a lot to talk about since it was his first album in four years and a lot had happened to him during that time.
On King's Disease I and II, he sounds far more relaxed and comfortable. The urgency is still there at times ("EPMD 2," "Rare," "Count Me In") but now, it's like he's calmly killing the beats. I keep saying that working with Hit Boy made him take a different approach. He slowed it down so you probably won't hear something like "Where Y'all At," but he can still do that if he wants to.
