LIG is a classic to me, but I have to be in a certain kind of mood to listen to it straight through (I still listen to certain joints like Queens Story and You Wouldn't Understand a LOT, though). It's in the category with stuff like Untitled and Distant Relatives. All very ambitious albums but I probably listen to I Am twice as much as all three combined.

I definitely rank KD2 higher but LIG vs KD1 is a better conversation to me. I don't get the argument that LIG has higher highs either. Yeah, the best on LIG is definitely top shelf, but the highs on KD2 would be the highs on most Nas albums.

How many times u gonna say this? Obviously Alotta people don’t feel this way. Based on response alone and im a person that holds LIG to a VERY high regard. I look at this album as different from that. Not worse tho. It’s all about whatever someone prefers sonically. LIG is not better in EVERY way tho. That’s cap.

Sequencing. It has more of a consistent mood or vibe mind u. LIG has songs that are weaker than every song on this.

LIG has a few very weak tracks that really hurt the quality of the album IMO (SoS, World an Addiction, Accident Murders)

But I will say Nas is rapping a bit sharper on LIG than KD2, and I like the longer verses.

But KD2 has crystal clean production and Nas just sounds comfortable. It's a much easier listen than LIG
