I couldn't get passed the first half on the first listen. He was rapping but not saying much, imo.

I finally got through the whole album and immediately forgot it. It's not bad, just extremely average..

I would suggest you listen to it again. Unless an album is :trash:, you usually won't get anything out of listening to it once. Especially with Nas albums.

I'll admit this was alot harder than I thought. I think the matchups are mostly on point.

The two washes I had came down to the production vs lyrics. Example: Gimme the bars on King's Disease over the production of The Pressure.

But as you said, leaving off count me in and especially Composure really weakens KD2. But both very dope albums.

Agree with this especially. I loved Nas’ lyrics on King’s Disease but I wasn’t really feeling the beat…Felt it was too woozy for my liking in addition to being drumless :francis:

It felt to me like HitBoy showing a kind of Griselda/Alchemist drumless flip, which I enjoyed & Nas floated, but yeah… I prefer Nas spittin’ over some drums.

I’m literally watching this on YouTube right now. It’s so great to see another old school GOAT of mine (Luda) living his best life and witnessing the fruits of his grind :obama:

Homie growing his afro back too :wow: Took me all the way da fukk back to 2002 when I just saw that lol

And he and his fam got dual citizenship in Africa, respect :salute:

This is the most attention i've seen garnered for a nas album post Stillmatic

Gotta love it.

All my 70's fools/80's dudes/rest of the FBW (flabby but swaggy) crew... STAND THE FIDDUCK UP!!!

.

He got a LOT of love and attention for Life Is Good. CNN named him the Best Lyricist Of All Time. The Source named him the 2nd best lyricist of all time after Rakim. It was the most respect from mainstream publications i’ve ever seen him get.

I know he’s independent now but i hope he gets the same type of press from these publications and websites for the phenomenal work he’s done on both KD1 and KD2. KD2 is a classic, a classic album
From a FORTY SEVEN year old MC who debuted THIRTY YEARS AGO. This needs to be acknowledged and celebrated.

Also I know Nas doesn’t enjoy doing interviews and I hate to sound like some Coli A&R, but I really think it would serve Nas well to do some press for this album. Talk about how the evolution from KD1 to KD2 helped him grow as an artist. Talk about the chemistry he has with Hit Boy. How he keeps himself motivated musically. Strictly music talk. Do a Zane Lowe interview. Breakfast Club. LA Leakers. All the spots he did last year.
