That's what I'm wondering. They went on a whole press run for King's Disease, and I was curious to see how this album was made. What inspired them to a do a sequel? How much of it was done this year? How the hell did Eminem and Lauryn Hill get features? There's a lot to talk about with this one.

I just found out from the engineer for King's Disease that originally, the concept for the album was love, and it was going to be released on Valentine's Day. But Nas and Hit Boy decided not to rush it and gave it more time. That's why songs like "Replace Me" and "All Bad" were made.
:ehh:

You know what I respect that, I respect an artist that goes out there and take a risk, and sometimes shyt be so advance and fly over people's head that they don't catch it til year's later like Marvin Gaye Hear My Dear, De La Soul Buhloone Mindstate

I wished they would of stuck to that concept

I gotta hunt down that interview, because that's the first time I'm hearing this. Makes sense though because there's a lot of songs about relationships on KD1. Makes me wonder how much of what they recorded didn't make the albums.

Yeah it was a video interview. Forgot where I saw it. He said it was February of last year when Nas came up with an idea to drop an album or EP titled "Valentines Day". The idea was scrapped when they realized they had something special on their hands and decided to not rush things.

Congrats to "King's Disease II"......Along with it's Top 3 Debut on the Billboard 200.....it has also debut at #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart and #1 on the Rap Albums Charts. This NaS's overall 13th Solo R&B/Hip Hop Top 5 and 7th on the Rap Albums Charts (Not counting Compilations and Collaborations). Because the Rap Album Chart wasn't out when NaS first dropped, most of his earlier albums missed that chart.

Kings Disease concept is way more unique and interesting imo, especially since there is no lack of love songs from Nas in the last decade. We pretty much know his feelings on the topic.

Disrespecting the greatness of KD bc KD 2 is so dope is very weird. These type of Nas fans are no better than his worst critics who always try to downplay his music bc nothing equals to Illmatic. Let KD be its masterpiece and accept that KD 2 is its own work of art. No need to downgrade one to uplift the other. Nas & Hitboy created two great separate albums that don’t need to be compared.

Downgrading an album because someone released a better one is some sucker shyt. I ain’t never in my life heard no Common fan say “Since Be was so great I gotta go back take a point off Resurrection”. Or a Kanye fan say “Damn Late Registration is dope! Guess i gotta give College Dropout a 3.5”

KD1 disrespect ain’t gonna be tolerated that album was album of the year for a reason. shyt is phenomenal.

It's crazy. I really didn't expect him to top that album nor was I looking for it. Still, we the fans still eat good off of two great albums even if the latest one is better. It doesn't diminish what the first one is. I mean we got

A Firm reunion complete with the Dre feature on "Full Circle", a nice Anderson.Paak collabo in "All Bad". Some of the best relationship songs Nas had ever done all on one album. There's "10 Points", "The Cure", "Car 85", and "Blue Benz" and "King's Disease", which is all vintage Nas. Last, there's "27 Summers", which now sounds like a preview of KD2.

Now im stuck on My Bible:wow: the gems on there

And I pray for the day when they lay down and caged make their way up out that maze
Get their mind up out a daze
Too many mama’s layin’ flowers at they graves....
...
......
And you get what you give, it’s power in how you live
I sit and talk with the kids
Tell ‘em just how it is
Go straight to avoid the bids
Livin’ fast can wait, stay down work on your grades
