Yea some of Nas albums are prevented from being str8 classics because of like 1 or 2 just average songs, usually the singles when he tries to be too radio friendly or commerical.....he usually fails......originally on Stillmatic when Braveheart party was on there that 1 song prevented it from being 5 mics. Now that it was taken off I think more highly of it and rank it higher in Nas catalogue.
On God's son it was Zone out......etc.....on LIG it was Summer on Smash........ KD2 it's YKTV.....
For some reason Nas always fails at the singles.....but the rest of the album cuts are usually 4/5 or 5/5
True we dont want the bad energyDon't bring them in here![]()
Jay has GOT to regret the day he decided to call out Nas. Their legacies would be EXTREMELY individualized if that battle never happened
Even RD and BP1 have average/wack songs (see Hola Hovita), but only Nas (for some reason) has to have 100% perfect, flawless tracks for an album to be considered classic. The fact that someone like Vlad used 1 song as an example (Nas is Coming) from a legit classic album is proof of that.
Jayz wanted his legacy linked to Nas, don’t get it twisted.

People thought hero beat was too commercial. But damn the shyt he spitting over it is just nutsZone Out was an album cut not a single.
And Nas has had dope singles with contemporary producers ranging from Polow Da Don (Hero) to Will I Am (Can’t Forget About You)

These old dudes grumbling about beats really looking funny in the light. The reaction to this album has been incredibly positive, this is the shyt a lot of people wanted from Nas. Even the Hovavengers (Budden, Rory, Mal, Elliot Wilson) have heaped praise on this album; all them loved the first one too. Pete Rock and these other dudes sounding real old and corny right now. I’m not gonna expect a 50yo+ dude to like a trap beat but…you can’t appreciate the beat on Nobody?
Dream Hampton prob fukks with this album lmao. If you hating because it’s not “the essence” you look crazy.
Doesnt really fit with the rest of the project.RD and BP1 have average songs but when the HELL did Hola Hovito become one of them?!!?That song SLAPS
Word I agree BP1 did have 1 or 2 songs I wasn't feelin, like Hola Hovito, but it's still considered a classic and probably Jay's second best album next to RD and The Black album which is third. Black Album even has 1 or 2 filler songs also like Change clothes and Justify my Thug.....but is also still considered a classic.
I think the difference is that we KNOW Nas can still make classics........but can Jay? I don't think Jay could make an album like KD2......
