YOU SON OF A bytch YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD

You hear it too, right? :pachaha:

I was thinking about it when I first played it and it's confirmed now. This has the mature, grown man sound that Life is Good perfected. It has that same special feeling. With more listens, it could potentially top Life is Good. The only thing that might stop that from happening is the fact that Nas reached a higher level lyrically with LIG. He lost his shyt on that album.

Then you have the Late Registration feeling. Kanye leveled up on that album. He took what he was doing on College Dropout and turned it up to 100. Everything was elevated. It was like going from a TV movie to a feature film. And bringing in Jon Brion was a genius idea because he knew how to make music sound like that. Nas and Hit Boy did the same thing here. shyt is more soulful, it's darker, it's harder, it's even more true to who Nas is artistically. They could have easily given more of what they did on King's Disease, but they went in another direction and decided to compete against themselves. And we end up getting a sequel that feels like a feature film with a higher studio budget than the original one. :blessed:

Late Registration is EXTREMELY grandiose and Cinematic. In his own way Hit Boy was able to tap into that feeling and give Nas a similar musical aesthetic. There’s not a huge reliance on Strings like LG but its still a very “musical” experience.

Hit flirted with this type of of direction on Kings Disease OG but they went ALLLL IN with the sequel and you can tell it really energized Nas. And not ONLY Nas, but Eminem, Lauryn Hill, A Boogie and YG too.
