I think this is considerably better than the first album.

Some of my complaints about that album still aren't resolved; I still think Nas has taken a step back as a rapper and Hitboy has some nice beats but there is a hollowness to his production that means I just can't look at him as a top tier producer.

Now saying that, I think these songs feel much more fleshed out than the first album. Nas' writing feels stronger and more focused. Even the best songs on KD felt minor to me compared to Nas' better songs. There's stuff on here that feels like Nas operating closer to his best. To me something like Death Row East is what Nas does best....takes a subject and just sorta reflects on it in an almost stream of consciousness way.

Hitboy has done better too. Less throwaway dollar store Roc-a-Fella beats. Some dope beat switches. He's never gonna be one of my favorite producers but him and Nas clearly got something good going on creatively.
Everything you said times 1000. Especially your critique of hit boy.

Also this album failed the whip test

cause my car speakers are trash lol. One of them shyts rattle it’s awful

This is the perfect sequel to KD1. I can't believe they topped it, Nas and Hit-Boy are an incredible match.

To close the album out with Nas is Good and then to close that song out with the words "Death to all the pessimistic mind state, lack of spirit muthafukkas!" i completely lost my shyt.

I gotta say Ms Lauryn Hill and Nas created something special on Nobody, wow.

Nas in his own league at this point

only listened once so far but :ahh:

Death Row East was dope for recounting the east/west beef from his POV

EPMD 2 was cool, Em was...tolerable...but god damnit when will he stop using that robotic flow...90/2000's em would have sounded so much better. :francis:

migos on a primo beat...:patrice: Kinda curious how that'd sound

was dope as hell to hear L-Boogie spit a verse (:mjlol: mentioning she's always late)...she still got it....think it might be my fave track on the album

composure is smooooooooth:whew:

Nas is Good was a nice closer

love the cohesiveness of the album...i feel this one is a little more cohesive than KD1...but this would make one hell of a double album.
Yea he needs to slow the fukk down, the fast rapping didn’t make sense for this song. I wish someone was there like a Dre to produce him and have him say his verse slower. So I can understand what he is saying.

The thing about Nas is he never fell off. Even his weaker albums like Nastradamus and Nasir are good albums.

He's basically your favorite rapper's favorite rapper.

Still though Jay-Z is the GOAT. Jay might not be a better artist than Nas but Jay's success totally eclipses Nas'. Jay is hip hop's first billionaire. He beat Dre and Diddy even to that.

What does that have to do with being the goat rapper:comeon:. And it isnt like Nas paper is short.
