Critical acclaim, unfortunately, has no bearing on the Grammys or who wins. Both Nas and The Roots had higher Metacritic scores in 2013 when nominated for Best Rap Album, but it was DRAKE who won. Because he was the most popular name and sold the most.
Last year was the FIRST year that the highest selling Rap album nominated didn’t win and the most critically acclaimed did. Meek Mill’s Championships was the highest selling but Tyler The Creator won.
Nas has a good amount of critical acclaim for Kings Disease AND the first time in his 5 Rap Album Nominations he’s the highest selling nominee. Also he’s got the narrative of being a bonafide Hip Hop legend. This is legitimately the best chance he’s EVER had to win if we take out “fairness” and what “should have happened” long ago. Nas is going to win

Hasn’t left my rotation since it dropped. This album, Jay Electronica, and Childish Gambino are my most played albums of the year according to Apple Music.

We already have The Dream track as a leftover.
I'm not a fan of the recent deluxe wave with artists adding tracks weeks or months after the initial release. At the end of the day you dont even know what's the real version of the album.
I would rather like him to move on to the next chapter after he wins the Grammy for KD, it could be a good move to release the new album the same week if its ready by then. Free publicity, go grab the award and announce something new is coming.
Nas doesn’t really do “Deluxe” type stuff. Only time he did that was with Life Is Good.
I’m guessing we’ll see whatever was left over in the next 3-4 years on a theoretical Lost Tapes 3
