9th was legit hurt :to:

By nas dismissing his beats

I spoke to 9th once at a industry event and he said he gave nas 60 beats and nas told Him later "they cool kind of basic"

Like someone kicked his dog :russ:

In one of them recent Nas interviews he did say he loves 9th Wonder, but he thought he was a weirdo for putting his face on Nas's body on his remixed album cover, :russ:

:ahh:

In 9th's defense though that would sting me hard too. Imagine a legendary rapper saying that to you, it would hurt. Nas do got a point though, 9th's always had weak drums.

That shyt that make ya soul burn slow lol.
Nas sat back watched him remix his album threw his face on his body on an album cover to his most personal album going thru the death of his mother. The cover probably had some sentimental value to him. Then proceeds to watch dude take Victory laps for creating something all the while chastising his original work and telling the world his ear for beats are horrible.. Years later he continues to chastise him for his production choices.. So Nas says send me a batch and doesn't use any of his beats just to tell him to his face ur Shyt was basic lol Man the Ether Nas serves up is just different man.

True good point...I forget the obnoxious elitism so many had back in those days over Nas production. If shyt wasn't an old soul sample it was wack to them. But running God's Stepson back right now and it just seems like random Youtube remixes. The only real remix that I think is an improvement is The Cross. Lot of the beats don't fit or all all kinda have the same vibe. Definitely prefer the OG versions of Get Down, Made You Look, Book of Rhymes, Warrior Song, etc. I don't like how he sped up Nas vocals on some of the remixes either.

This is pathetic. A 40+ year old man acting like an immature child. I lost a lot of respect for 9th. The funny thing about this is I wouldn’t be surprised if Nas has no idea 9th feels this way :russ:

Nas paid a 9th a compliment during his breakfast club interview so i’m sure he don’t even know about 9th’s bytch nikka tendencies

I flat out didn't like it.. He had Nas vocals offbeat.. Bad project to me but I have a lot of strong opinions that the rest of Hip-Hop would disagree with me on.

I liked 9th with Little Brother but never really felt his beats were as good as advertised. His drums were hard, snares too hard. Didn't really have a good sonic appeal but samples were really dope.
