Saw that!! Would be too easy cuz i never liked Apathy to begin with!

“For my stuck in the 90’s niccas”
I've seen 95% love for the album and 5% hate. The people that hate it, are really stuck back in the times and they want one specific sound from Nas and that's it. Sonically and lyrically kings disease is phenomenal. Favorite all around album of 2020.

Drake or Rihanna. It will require an artist that is heavily streamed. Nas fans bad about streaming. In the digital age, in order for Nas to get a super big song commercially it will require a popular artist for these times.

Yes Drake would have been perfect for ‘Replace Me’, Drake or J Cole. I feel Sean had a good verse, but the numbers would be far better with just a simple replacement of similar level rappers.

These are the “hippity hip hop clowns that don’t respect growth as an artist! 26 years later still asking for another Illmatic! They would be happy if he was Dead broke still making that “Real Hip Hop”

I knew the first time I heard the album that this sect of Nas/Hip Hop Heads wouldn't like the album, lol. This guy seems like one of them dirty, black n milds smokin ashy dudes who only like Boot Camp Click and Ra the Rugged Man or whatever his name is and wears Wu Tang shirts to PTA meetings and shyt like that. This album is too commercial/soft/mature sounding for that type of fan. Nas is not an underground rap darling anymore, he is a superstar legendary rapper with a broader spectrum of fans than a KRS-1 or someone like that, his music reflects that.

We all would love a bar heavy, pen heavy Nas album produced predominantly by boom-bap producers, of course...but that's not what he wants to do or where he is at almost 50 years old, instead of being salty about that just enjoy what he is giving us, because it's still quality.

U got it wrong. Because if Nas made that exact album they SAY they want. They would still find a way to compare it to Illmatic and hate it. Lol

Agreed. If you put drake on replace me, that song is too the moon. Cardi B on spicy that goes to the moon as well.

Exactly... and I’m sure Drake or Cardi would jump at a Nas feature simply for legacy purposes, but I feel like Nasir enjoys going against the grain somewhat, ‘fukk it you gotta love it’s :yeshrug:

Slowly liking this album.

This the first time an album from Nas is taking me a while to get use to. Before I knew off bat if I really liked it and I was usually correct.

My homey from Connecticut was trying to convince me but I was being stubborn. He would look at me funny when he caught me playing a song I said I didn't like. LoL

Don Toliver killed Replace Me. He got a new fan in me but Drake on that chorus yea that's a certified hit.. Don does good numbers as far as youtube views so does Fivio.. You think going forward Nas will continue to work with people who stream well or do u think Hitboy was just putting stuff together?

he is on a digital rap radio station or something. he only likes street stuff as far as new music or real hippity hop stuff, like old Pharcyde or Souls of Mischief.... speaking of which he just did an interview with A-Plus. his range is very limited. there were some dope artists like Fred The Godson that he really didnt fukk with...so its not just about lyrics or street tracks with him...he truly only likes one type of rap and mostly deep underground artists. speaking of Apathy..they actually had a disagreement about something one time, ghostwriting I think.

anyway I wont be playing this Nas album much, its good but just better stuff out there for me to listen to. to be fair...a lot of these perspectives is because Nas really dont make music like that anymore. he doesnt have to. even he said he made this album because he FELT like working. rap is a side thing for him now and he did himself no favors with projects like Nasir. If he did two projects a year with some variety some would probably change their tune because that Lost Tapes 2 shyt was some of his best shyt in years. there is not a track on KD that stands up to No Bad Energy. not even a Ross fan like that but if he executive produced a Nas album that shyt would be crazy I bet.

I thinking keep don on the hook and have drake have a verse instead of Sean. Honestly, at this point nas will probably do a mixture of both. I think nas will be working with producers and artist he has wanted to work with.
