Is there a major label (mid 90s) rap album that has aged better than IWW sonically? It fits the modern sensibilities to a tee. At the time purists were mad about the drums but those cymbal crashes became standard rap shyt a few years later. The Dynasty album was full of that shyt in 2000, from Just Blaze/Kanye/Bink.

I think a lot of newer people like I Am too. There are a couple weak beats on there but overall the sound is in line from what you hear from non-trap Ross, Drake, etc beats over the last decade. That luxurious rap shyt.
I never understand the disrespect for I am. It has a couple of misses. Maybe 2-3 max, but overall that album is phenomenal. That run of illmatic, IWW and I am is an underappreciated run. Illmatic and It was written have no skips for me.

This album is gonna be remembered as the soundtrack to one of the most messed up years ever .. 2020 ... a lot of people will relate this album to this year so I can totally see this being a future “classic”
Yup kinda of like when The Blueprint dropped on 9/11

It wasn't hated until you know who tried to rewrite history

I knew someone back then who had I Am as their favorite Nas album. I don’t agree but it definitely wasn’t some hated album like people try to make now.

Same here. People loved I am. That was my first introduction to Nas, so that album is 4.5 mics for me personally.

What did she actually say? I could see Joe feeling some kind of way if Nas called him wack and corny.

Joe prolly cried in the car. He was going to name his son Nasir at one point.

Nas needs to be more sensitive of these rappers feelings.

In all fairness. Nas probably never could have imagined in the 90’s that he’d end up becoming so famous that the mother of his child would be able to write a tell all book about him

No one even knows how true it is tho. Like I said before. Joe could’ve easily asked Nas himself about it.

I swear rappers cried over Carmen's comments more than actual diss tracks.
:mjlol:

I'm still laughing at her saying Hov had a room of Nas stuff all on the walls and shyt, for him to scrutinize like some crazy serial killer.
