Nikka was mad Carmen told the world Nas thought Joe was wack and corny back in the day

yes he was lol....he was mad because HE already/always hated Jay and was always a Nas stan but then Nas squashed his beef with Jay and for whatever reason(s), he felt betrayed:mjlol::hhh:

Nas just showed him love on his Birthday and Fat Joe was reppin the new album hard. Even played Car 85 as the intro on one of his interviews.. Joe just worded the question wrong to Doja in an attempt to brownose his guest. Them dudes respect eachother this isn't about anything.

yeah, I don't think Fat Joe was trying to be slick at Nas at all in that interview with Doja; if anything, HE KNEW why Nas said that line but didn't want to come outright and offend Doja, that's why he was

a way to properly ask the question before he later mentioned George Floyd

I honestly think fat joe is trying to make his way in that space, so he was kind trying to cater to Doja cat. The way he phrased it could have been better.

What did she actually say? I could see Joe feeling some kind of way if Nas called him wack and corny.

She said Nas only considered Biggie worthy of being his adversary and basically paid nobody else any mind. She said he would say that Fat Joe is corny and that any female could be Foxy Brown

Fat Joe rode hard for Nas when Takeover came out. It was a tough position to take at the time because Ether didn’t come out yet and Nas last album was Nastradamus. Nas been away for a long while. People doubted Nas whereas Hov killed it two summers in a row.

Fat Joe talked about almost naming his son Nas after him. So he definitely deserves some extra courtesy as a friend. There might be more to it than we know. I think Nas personality is just whatever. Nas is a loner. He does his own thing. Joe is an alpha wolf of his pack. He has expectations. Joe has always been logical so I’ll suppose there is off-Screen shyt we don’t know about.

At end of the day, Nas only reveres legends. Joe is juuuust short of the Hall of Fame level and Nas doesn’t give him that reverence that Joe wants. I think that’s the biggest problem.

I think that's what happened too, he didn't realize his wording sounded the way it did, he worded the question/lead up wrong...further proving my point that he is awful at this job, lol. He could have said "I know you had some controversy going on with you over some comments we don't need to repeat right now. My man Nas made reference to you and those comments recently. How do you feel about what he said on the record?" Very simple.

This is gonna get even worse tho, it's inevitable...EVERYBODY wants to be media now because the potential is so big financially, there's gonna be more awful famous people doing this shyt that have no business doing this shyt just because they have the platform and so many connections. I actually look forward to when the supply is grossly trumping the demand and the whole shyt goes belly up due to over-production,

I think a lot of us are also :flabbynsick: enough that we've witnessed some of these dudes growing up/maturing in front of us.

A thug changes, best friends become strangers :yeshrug:

How many of your old friends are you REALLY REALLY still close with? Outsiders might look at those relationships and think you're not cool anymore even though y'all know it's still love amd things just went the way they did. Difference with celebs is they make public statements (Joe moreso than Nas) that reveal why things mightve changed and makes it seem worse.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..

Kings Disease made these young dudes want to go back and check his catalog. It's refreshing seeing their response to it. I posted the other review somewhere in this thread.

These cats reviewed IWW as well. And what I tell u. The black kid puts it over Illmatic and the other kid said it’s a toss up. They both said they both classics. Most people with fresh ears gonna feel this way. I was doing some design work for some older heads where I work at and they was talking about Ghostface, Raekwon, Meth, Nas, etc etc. Then they brought up this album. They fukkin wit it heavy. Then they started shyttin on Jay talkin about how he always drop when Nas drop and he a dikkrider. They started speaking about Nas’ discography and IWW came up and they said IWW was crazy and they put it right up there with Illmatic.

Is there a major label (mid 90s) rap album that has aged better than IWW sonically? It fits the modern sensibilities to a tee. At the time purists were mad about the drums but those cymbal crashes became standard rap shyt a few years later. The Dynasty album was full of that shyt in 2000, from Just Blaze/Kanye/Bink.

I think a lot of newer people like I Am too. There are a couple weak beats on there but overall the sound is in line from what you hear from non-trap Ross, Drake, etc beats over the last decade. That luxurious rap shyt.
