Cats hating on Nastradamus still have yet to drop a valid argument on why they feel its subpar:francis:. Easily a 4 mic album.

I always give Nastradamus a 3.5 not so much because of what it is but because of what it was SUPPOSED to be and i think Nastradamus and to a lessor extent I Am get graded on that curve because of the leaked songs and the original intention for it to be this grandiose conceptual double album.

That and the fact the sequencing feels a bit off. Nas’s lyrics didn’t suffer but some of the hooks did.

I may be in the minority but I am is criminally underrated and isnt mentioned high enough in peoples albums. I may be bias though, because that was my introduction to Nas and I used to play it every day.

I am is like what vol 1 is to jay-z. Some of the worst nas joints are in there but some of his best of his career too. People put life's good and king desease ahead of iam because they are cohesive from beginning to end and have little to no flaws, you don't skip tracks.

But it's difficult to put these 2 albums ahead of an album who got nysom 2, hate me now, small world, nas is like and undying love to name of few. Theses are not just good songs. They are iconic songs

Dude is a media darling fam. Bottom line. I honestly don’t care about his reviews either. I’m just using that shyt as an example of him being a media darling. nikka album was like a pair of Travis Scott 1’s to a bunch of hype beasts. GKMC. U actually saw the love that shyt got in real life in real time. TPAB? He’ll no. Lol. And what makes it so bad. Dude regressed lyrically on that shyt compared to the albums before it. I don’t hate Kendrick. I actually chopped it up wit boi before he blew up. He’s clearly one of the best of this generation. No question. I’m just callin a spade a spade.
Kendrick is the most overrated artist possibly in modern music.

Nas album release/discussion threads always deliver:
The “Escobar Season has returned”/“Nas is coming” anticipation which fills pages and pages as soon as something is announced and before we even hear one full track
The overreactions both ways when a snippet/first single drops
The theories about what the album is going to sound like based on the cover, title, and tracklisting whenever that’s released
The disappointment/uncertainty/intrigue about who is making beats or producing the album and who is not
The excitement/skepticism about features
The longing for projects that had been discussed or mentioned as a possibility before—album produced entirely by Premier, collab album with AZ
The calling the album classic or wack (but mostly classic) before and immediately after it’s been released
The “fukk Nas Coalition” who come in like villains talking about random dumb shyt tryna derail the thread—e.g he can’t pick beats, he ain’t gon sell, he ain’t as relevant today, he ain’t as good as blah blah blah
The Nas stans who throw on their capes prepared to defend Nas from any perceived or outright disrespect, slights, or criticism
The guaranteed comparisons of Nas to Jay-Z and rehashing of that beef and shyt that happened over twenty years ago
The inevitability of Jay-Z releasing something same day as Nas’s projects and that fueling conspiracies that the beef is still on
The stan wars
The reactions to each song
The quoting of lines/lyrics
The tweets from other rappers/celebrities and what they think about the project
The hailing it as classic or wack—no in between
The links to reviews and people liking or hating the review based on whether it conforms to what they think about the album—“fukk Pitchfork”...no, seriously, fukk Pitchfork...and Rolling Stones too
The questions of why Nas did this and why he didn’t do that and speculation of he’ll do next
The guesses of how much the record is going to sell and in the same breath saying it doesn’t matter how much it sells
The declarations that it should be nominated for and win awards followed by others who say “fukk a Grammy”
The ranking of Nas’s discography

Rinse, wash, repeat. Might be the same for other artists but it just feels different with Nas. Always an event.

Don't forget the media's constant comparisons to an album Nas made almost 30 years ago because that's their only frame of reference. :troll:
