As soon as I said only ppl in the industry got the advance copy, now you mysteriously worked for Sony :mjlol:

So that makes you 47+ right :flabbynsick:

Goodnight all :russ:

You must not read that well.

I said I was in the first sessions for those OG songs way before in this thread. How do you think I was there?

The official has the songs I just listed.

So if you have vinyl with the bootleg tracks on it, in the same order as the homemade CD's from back in the day, it's not official.

I'm not arguing with you about a vinyl released through Legacy Recordings, check to see who they are a subsidiary of...do your research

You're wrong and you been wrong all night

Nah, I was there. You were in high school.

So what I'm saying is not really up for debate. The Legacy reissue has the songs I just listed a few posts back. So I don’t know where you're getting your information from, but the tracklist on that release is not the same as the bootleg from back in the day.

A "reissue" is a release based on a project that already dropped retail. It's not a vinyl version of an old bootleg. If it's based on the bootleg, it's not a re-release, bro. It's vinyl based on a fan favorite bootleg.

L.E.S.: We was in Miami when we did “U Gotta Love It.” It might’ve been around the time we was doing It Was Written or right after. I was just fukking around with the sample. I looped it and realized that it was three bars and I was like, “Ain’t nothing you can do with this.” That shyt was really like an accident. I played it for him and he was just like, “Whoa, this is dope.” Nobody would ever rhyme on a three-bar turnaround loop—they didn’t know how to. Nas was like, “I’ma do this shyt.” He wrote to the beat right there. I had an AZ sample on one of the pads and was hitting it. This is what they want, huh. It came out classic.

Yes.

Like I said earlier on the thread, the album started with L.E.S. and Angelettie. We had the Hit Factory Criteria booked for like 2-3 weeks. These were the first songs done for the album, which I mentioned in this thread.

No It Was Written era song was making I Am :mjlol:

Nas got in his I Am bag in 98, not fkn 96...

The facts are that the I Am advance was 13 songs and the rereleased vinyl is a carbon copy of what was floating around the industry as the advance copy

U Gotta Love It was not on the advance copy and it was simply a mixtape loosie...dope record tho

Y'all nikkas after 9 pages still don't know what the original I Am tracklist was? :snoop:

It was originally intended to be a double album, but then it was reduced to 13 songs and turned into the label around Feb 99

The bootleg of I Am was:

Fetus
Small World
Money's My bytch
Project Windows
Poppa Was A Playa
Dr. Knockboots
Daydreaming/Stay Schemin'
Sometimes I Wonder
Hardest Thing To Do Is Stay Alive
Drunk By Myself
Wanna Play Rough
Blaze a 50
We Will Survive
