Well that was the version bootlegged

But I tell you what,I think purists and rap fans would have still been divided over I am even if it was the double album with the Lost Tapes/Clue mixtape joints cause it still wasnt Illmatic in their eyes
But that would’ve been waaaaay better....those lost tape joints were FIRE when they came out......like 3/4 years later.....those tracks would’ve been bananas had they released as early as they should’ve been. Album may have been a classic.

Hey it's your opinion..
The Firm aint a solo album, but I disagree. I'd take the Firm any day over the retail I Am :yeshrug:

Agree Nas on the Firm was fresh off It was Written. Nas on I Am was rusty on some of those songs.
His rhymes declined dramatically on the Firm album. Nas is Like was viewed as a comeback in real time. He didn’t keep that up over the whole I Am album of course, but the Firm had no Nas verses on that level.

I don't disagree that illmatic and IWW are leagues above the Firm.

And I agree that Nas is Like is a great song with illmatic/IWW quality...but the complete track listing on the Firm is better than the track listing on 'I Am'

As a complete project. 'I Am is a 3-3.5 album...the Firm is a 3.5 -4

Sure but trust me people would have still hated those tracks

I'm gonna speak my mind.

I never understood people saying I Am... was better than Nastradamus. :yeshrug:

I Am... is so weak and is Nas at his worst. Very bad.
Always thought 'Nas is Like' was overrated, 'Hate Me Now' is so force, Big Things is arguable the worst rap song ever, Dull songs from top to bottom.
I think his name carried the album, because it sure wasn't the music.

The Firm is Nas at his worst. He's better lyrically on Nastradamus. and Nas is Like isn't overrated
