No It Was Written era song was making I Am :mjlol:

Nas got in his I Am bag in 98, not fkn 96...

The facts are that the I Am advance was 13 songs and the rereleased vinyl is a carbon copy of what was floating around the industry as the advance copy

U Gotta Love It was not on the advance copy and it was simply a mixtape loosie...dope record tho

The recording for "I Am" started in '98, fam. Again, I was there. That was one of the first joints done for it. Which is what I said earlier in this thread. I literally sat in the session.

The "album" you're talking about was released two years ago, as a RSD edition, and literally was labeled as a release of the "popular bootleg".

As other people have said on here, "U Gotta Love It" was on the advance that "Broscoe" had. That was the FIRST leak. It wasn't on any tapes back then. You clearly weren't around for that, so I can't fault you for not knowing. Ignorance is definitely bliss.

It was originally intended to be a double album, but then it was reduced to 13 songs and turned into the label around Feb 99

The bootleg of I Am was:

Fetus
Small World
Money's My bytch
Project Windows
Poppa Was A Playa
Dr. Knockboots
Daydreaming/Stay Schemin'
Sometimes I Wonder
Hardest Thing To Do Is Stay Alive
Drunk By Myself
Wanna Play Rough
Blaze a 50
We Will Survive

This is a certified classic if it came out like this

"Nas sucks, Eminem is the GOAT, vote democrat or republican, why you being so divisive, why is it that we all ________ we need to do better, black women suck more per capita, black men need to"

After all the years dudes still saying the source reviewed the bootleg.:dead: I used to buy the source every month I read the review in real time they reviewed the retail.:unimpressed:
Same as when they reviewed AZ SOSA (SAVE OUR STREETS AZ) . That version was bootlegged & never released then 9 lives was released for retail .

Big facts.

They had to mention one time that they were mistakenly reviewing bootlegs and then did a whole issue where they did reviews for "the best bootlegs", lol.

Nip was 12 years old and living in LA, when the album leaked, pre-internet.

He didn't have an advance copy of I Am, when he was in the damn 5th grade.

You gotta stop this, bro, lol.

Read the coli poster who wrote in this thread and specifically mentioned the misinformation that ppl like you are spreading

You said you worked for the label in 98, which would make you 50

Naaaaahhh, I'm not 50 yet, but I appreciate the interest.

I've been in music since 15-16. Started at Mercury/Polygram interning and doing street team, went over to A&R at Sony/Columbia and then Def Jam, all before 22. Still in the business today. Just on the other side of it. And still not 50 yet. HAHA!
