Dude is the most overpowered character in the manga by far. It's a pretty huge testament to just how strong the 1st was

The "only the bijuus can contend" comment pretty much means that Naruto is gonna have to shut it down after he's freed all the bijuu from Tobi imho. I'd be completely satisfied if Madara turned out to be the actual final villain and Naruto took the same path as the first to glory...literally.

Yeah, we still have too much unfinished business with Madara for him to just disappear.

We still don't know what his connection with Tobi is, or how he survived against the 1st, or what he did after that, how he got the Rinnegan, etc. Madara mentioned the Moon's Eye Plan so he's definitely in on it.
