The success of this series is gonna be based on how good the villains are.

Naruto doesn't have villains only antagonist who are mostly well-intentioned extremist.

the difference being a villain is a bad person who takes evil actions. an antagonist doesn't have to be a bad person.

the only guy that i would say was a villain was orchimaru. he flat out tried to destroy the village because he was butthurt over never becoming hokage.:empire:

but all the other antagonists were not truly "evil"

I doubt he plays a part in the new series. I don't understand why this is even getting made because there were really no plot threads left in the original series that needed to be addressed but I'll hold out hope this is decent. Usually though when a sequel gets made and there's no established reason for making it the story suffers.

only exception i can think of is korra, but that is a different type of show.
