Everyone in this show essentially wants the same thing tho, peace. That's what the whole show is about.

Dude is right Orochimaru is the only actual villain if we're looking at motivations. Also that walking smiting machine Muu. And Kakazu, but he's just trying to make an honest dollar. Muu is just looking out for his village...heck Oro is just trying to further his education.

:ohhh: everyone is just misunderstood, look at that.

I just watch this for legendary swag levels and ninjas dropping jutsus that literally can dust a man out. The storys been basic. It's just one big Kung Fu film. It's just the mythos that's :blessed:

Muu wasn't evil :what: he just cares about his village and his people only. And we are starting to find out oro isn't what we think he's all cracked up to be. :russ:

yeah none of the revived past kages were evil. they were mostly motivated to protect their village and we can't forget tehy were controled by kabuto..the only pure evil villains i can think of were pre-time skip orochi, hidan, kazuku and deidera...i'm pretty sure those four had different motives to join akatsuki..but mostly for personal and selfish/sadistic reasons...and i really don't get why kishi is totally fukking up his hardcore villains like pain, tobi and madara..he tryna make them into gray area villains like magneto but it isn't working...

He was just one of those needs a hug villains too. I can't get over how silly this series got. The master plan is make everyone go into a dream world using moon magic to match the ideals of ninjas who are emo by nature and that drives them crazy. Really that's what this whole series was about?

I get the whole bonds theme of Naruto but emo ninjas who's powers awaken when their feelings get hurt wanna use moon magic to create an emo utopia?

the bolded would be a excellent post in the anime spin off of that Simplify Movies With Simple Plot Descriptions thread

This whole ninja war is boring. Many of these resurrected characters are people I don't even know. "So and so used to be a bad ass back in their day watch out."

Now I remember why I quit reading Naruto. I've gotten to the point I'm skimming through some of these chapters till I see a character I like. I'm at 530 now so I'm not too far off.

The war is a mess. It was never going to be that great anyway considering one side is nothing but zombies and clones, but the whole structure of the war, the fights, character development is at best average and at worst terrible. This series is the epitome of "turn your brain off and enjoy" because I don't see how you can truly enjoy this series unless your a hardcore fan given that it's nothing but fanservice and giant explosions.

Shame too because this series with the world it has contained a lot of potential, but it seems like Kishimoto just isn't that good of a writer, espeically if his Mario oneshot is any indication.

i still feel like Pein destroying the leaf was both the highlight and turning point of Naruto as a series. that and the fight right after were as good as it got. its been mostly all downhill since then. when he resurrected the village the quality of the series took a nosedive.

the final battle feels like a bunch of extended cameos and pop ups of all the characters in the series instead of a battle. the good guys have so many beats on their side the suspense is totally killed. nobody is really in any danger.

Japan, but from the 989
Go ahead and destroy me after this comment but...I think this manga is about the realities of war. We always boil war down to good vs evil in the most simplest of terms to come to some sort rationalization of why human beings are being killed. In this world, children were being killed, best friends killed, families destroyed all over power. Look at Gaara, his own father used him as a weapon, and tried to have him killed because he didn't think he could control the beast inside of him. It's actually a sad story if you think about it. All these characters are scarred because of what war has done to them. And in order to fix the pain they have all felt at one point or another they have committed atrocities trying to find order and peace. There are no true villians in this book. Ninjas with motivations that oppose each other. Their motivations end up getting them killed or they lose their way and become lost. Naruto is hope because he is going a different path than everyone else before him, but I think in the end he is going to die to change the world. Dying for the ninja world's sins Jesus sort of stuff.

You must not have gotten to the chapter where Tsunade got sliced in half and the one later where Neji got killed.

I mean if you expect the good guys to lose then you probably shouldn't read Shounen to be honest. I'd say the war was pretty good. I don't see how even you can hate on the real Madara.

Dude's a beast.

the old bird is still alive and well and that death i wouldn't have picked that person. to me Hinata should have got killed off. that would have been ill an people would have had a fit.
