Nah, the reason he didn't let Naruto (or other people) know that he was Minato's son was because Minato had mad enemies. If people that had a grudge against Minato knew he had a son walking around, they might try to kill him out of revenge. Obviously Naruto is strong enough to protect himself now, but the 3rd didn't want people going after kid Naruto because of who his dad was.
To be honest though, even though I like them, Jiraiya and Kakashi are bytch ass nyggas for not bothering to meet Naruto until he was 12. Considering Jiraiya was Naruto's godparent and Kakashi was trained by Naruto's dad (and knew it). At least Sarutobi made sure Naruto had food and shelter.
But that said, not killing Orochimaru when he had the chance was an AWFUL decision.

Jiraiya da gawd Sannin was out gathering all kinds of intel on his enemies, especially Oro. Just like Naruto went on a journey to rescue Sasuke, he felt the same way about Oro.

That shyt doesn't even make sense. The Jinchuuriki's are typically related to high ranking Ninja officials. Naruto seems to be the only one who didn't know ANYTHING about his parentage. Plus the simple fact that he was known as the Jinchuuriki of his village made him a target anyway, him and others knowing who his father was wouldn't have put any more heat on him.

Actually no, Jiraiya didn't have time to come ALL the way back to Konoha. It's not like he was just down the road, he was constantly in other parts of the country gathering intel and trying to stay on top of Akatsuki. Most of the intel the leaf got came directly from Jiraiya.
Similar thing applies to Kakashi, he stayed out on missions for the majority of the time, that's why such a big deal was made about him even leading a team of young nin. I can't front an say that once he started leading that team that he fukked up by making Sasuke his star pupil and basically throwing Naurto in the bushes. It was part of his "mission" but he still fukked up.
Oro is forever....watch this nikka absorb Madara or some shyt and become the god body villain.

Being some random Jinchuuriki is one thing, but the 4th hokage was a dude who had a "flee on site" order. I'm sure a LOT of people would want to get back at Minato.
And I don't at all buy Kakashi/Jiraiya NEVER having time to return to the village. I mean Kakashi lived in the village. I'm sure he had a few days off at some point during the first 12 years of Naruto's life. Again, I don't dislike the characters at all but come on now.
