So its basically like the uzamaki descended from the Senju.

It could be like the hyuga relation to the Uchiha for all we know and you know damn well that the hyuga have powers separate from the Uchiha powers.

Kishi never specified the relation of the hyuga to the Uchiha other than rumors so for all we know he can come out and say they we're distant relatives too aka the Uchiha descended from the hyuga just like uzamaki descended from the senju for all we know and if that's the reason it would justify my explanation that they did not inherite the large chakra reserves.
