'Narcos' Boss on Cast Reset, Move to Mexico for Season 4

"The origins of the Guadalajara cartel are in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so Narcos is going back in time," showrunner Eric Newman explains to The Hollywood Reporter about the season four announcement, made on Tuesday.

Wow, this is big. They're going back in time to explore the Guadalajara Cartel. That means Caro Quintero, Fonesca Carrillo, and Felix Gallardo, and El Chapo, as he was under the 3 Godfathers of the Mexican Cartel.

He won't be in season 4. They are working backwards, and now are going to use the Mexican Cartel origins to head towards the future. That means looking at Caro Quintero, Felix Gallardo and Fonseca Carillo (the trio were the Godfathers of The Mexican Drug Cartel) and El Chapo was under them.

They are the ones who murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena and set off the drug wars between AMERICA & MEXICAN CARTELS. From there Guadalajaria split into 3 cartels after they got taken down: Sinoloa, Tijuana, and Juarez cartel.

I assume Michael Pena will be El Chapo, and Luna will be Caro Quintero. That way Netflix can use Pena as Chapo for years. They probably regret not being able to use the actor who played Escobar for years, since they kind of rushed through his story in 2 seasons, instead of stretching it out longer. They could've probably did 4 seasons on Escobar alone if they wanted to.

Technically, since Narcos is going to break from chronological timelines for the series. When they are done with the Mexican Cartels (years from now) they could go backwards and cover Griselda Blanco in the 80's, show her era of reign.

Yeah Pena about to have a career defining role playing Chapo for a bunch of seasons. He might fukk around and catch an Emmy off this eventually.

Who you want to play Charles Cosby? :lolbron:
Seeiously tho, with the Lifetime thing about to drop and the Cocaine Cowboys movies there is no need to revisit her story IMO.

Narcos' move to Mexico was first reported in September when a location scout working on the fourth season, Carlos Munoz Portal, 37, was found dead in his car northeast of Mexico City in a high-crime area. According to local reports, his body and car were riddled with bullets. Though an investigation is still ongoing, Newman confirmed what THR had reported, that his death is not believed to be connected to the show according to local law enforcement.

:damn:
