Sanders had nothing to do with the senate results yesterday.

He's right in acknowledging the importance of black voters to yesterday's results, but unless he actually targets black voters this is just lip service.

But he's a politician doing what politicians do.

His comments on the "political revolution in action." Black folks in AL weren't trying to contribute to Bernie's concept of a "political revolution." They were just trying to save themselves from Roy Moore's crazy ass and maybe get a pol in there who would vote decently most of the time.

You might disagree, which is fine, but I think that the wording that Bernie uses to discuss these black voters isn't really honest. Of course, Bernie had black supporters, but whenever he talks in interviews about his "political revolution," it is always in the context of rallying poor whites to his cause, not black folks of any type.

He's definitely not taking credit. Bernie for years and years has talked about a political revolution and he always is talking about the different groups that need to get engage in the political process. It's not something he came up with in 2016.

You can criticize Bernie's failures of trying to get the black vote in a presidential primary last year. All I'm seeing in that statement is a guy who's happy the Senate gain an ally for his caucus in the fight against the agenda of an extreme right wing GOP.

The Deep State
Sanders isn't taking credit for anything, but he is co-opting the voting power of black people for his "movement," in his own words, in this post when he's been pretty plain about wanting to focus on poor whites and thinking that black voters in the Deep South shouldn't matter as much to who chooses the nominee for the Ds because they come from states that Ds won't win anyway.

So the title of the thread is dishonest, but so is Sanders in that post. It's a wash.

Yeah he is.

Once again @FAH1223 can't get Sanders off his mind, soul, and heart.

He's trying to take credit for the guy who RAN HILLARY'S CAMPAIGN IN ALABAMA.

He's not taking credit for Randall Woodfin. You need to calm down.

No fan of the flower avi gang, but Bernie supported Woodfin's campaign.

Woodfin's win is a coup for national progressive groups that backed him, including the Working Families Party and Our Revolution, the legacy organization of Sen. Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign. Sanders personally endorsed Woodfin and recorded a robocall for him on Monday. (Sanders' endorsement reflects the changing nature of the political landscape following the November presidential election: Woodfin backed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her 2016 primary battle with Sanders, eventually becoming her Alabama state director.)"
