Don't have time to watch all that but one of the biggest reasons white people complaining about "identity politics" is a red flag to me is that they spent much of the election and ALL of the post-election talking about identity politics...for white people. Working class! Coal workers! Steel mills! Remember all that shyt? Nevermind there aren't many coal workers in this damn country, for some reason their views HAD to be heard. And let's not forget about rural town opiate addicts. Heard a lot about those losers, yet the media and politicians couldn't care less when drugs were pumped into black neighborhoods.
Now on the flip side I will say there is an aspect of identity politics that annoys the fukk out of me.The way Hillary so casually played the sexist card was nauseating. Especially when you consider Obama almost never even brought up his race or (rightfully) said he was being targeted because he's black. Obviously there was a LOT of sexism flying around in the election and Hillary was right to discuss the issue in general, but some of it went to laughable extends.
Even now with the healthcare bill. I see liberals RTing tweets pointing out "here are the WHITE MEN writing the healthcare bill. No women are writing it!" As if the bill wouldn't look the exact fukking same if some republican women were included
The gender doesn't fukking matter. Republicans don't give a fukk, whether it's a republican man or woman. Ben Carson doesn't give a fukk about black people. There are Hispanic republicans who don't give a fukk about Hispanics. Their ideology trumps their identity.
