Nat Turner movie was great and definitely didn't include the usual slavery tropes films about that era are commonly saddled with. There were no white saviors or forgiving negros to be found, nor any sentimental and sanitized depictions of the horrific acts Turner and those with whom he was enslaved were victims of.
