Think Like A Mans

loved that movie,

Masked as a romcom, it was honest, insightful and really invokes important dialogue about the tribulations we face regarding challenging the status quotients on courtship/how we navigate companionship.

But ultimately, as adults, how we perceive and examine the overall intricacies/difficulties of contemporary romantic relationships.

Everybody slayed their roles and it stands as one of the best black, if not, overall romantic comedies in all of cinematic history.

Then they made a go and produce/release a goofy ass sequel about adults going to vegas and the shenanigans that ensued. A slap in the face and outright disrespect to its predecessor and its screen writer (assuming they had zilch to do with the followup).

Individually, Romany Falco was in his swag bag for the first and he was inspirational. But as an ensemble, all the pieces fit harmoniously and im not going to get into the soundtrack. Legend dud his thang and Rozay/Neyo annihilated that collabo.

Great flick with a great message and a killer soundtrack to coincide with it. Sorry this became more of a critique of an original flick, but that sequel was a straight hollywood cash grab and it doesnt exist in the same universe, name and vein as the og.

Making it a franchise, and to have the second installment fukk it up to that level just taints the brand to no degree. College dropout.

Quintessential of a one and done and this is an exemplary example of it.

As a testament to my dictions, im glad Boomerang and its producers knew it was strong enough to be heralded as a singularly remarkable film that didn’t require a part 2.

Thats the end of this cinematic road.
