One band one sound:manny:

We have you all of the leverage that we have.
It literally would only take football players you don't even need the rest to do it. Those bull gators in Florida would personally run their president out of town if they started losing recruits over the DEI dissolusion

The boosters at Florida state and UCF would revolt if that shyt happens

These white folks lose all that racism when it comes to losing football games. We've literally seen this happen before with Ole Miss. They dumped the confederate flag the second they knew it would stop them from getting good players :heh:

Turning down your scholly to Florida schools just means you go to another school that churns out NFL players. It's not a big deal at all. I hope black players start telling florida schools to fukk off. This is what they want right?
I voted yes. But the longer I think of it, it just seems futile. These colleges are offering these black boys money. If you’re a 3 star DB and your only legit NIE money is coming from The U, or Florida state, or UF, why should the kid, the baby boy, be the adult hotep to stand on business, and turn down revenue? Hopefully other black adults are offering these boys money of their own to make this decision. Stevie wonder asked tourist to boycott Florida after Treyvon. And well….it didn’t work.

America is filled with supremacy of white ppl. Turn down Florida schools to experience racism at Billy Bob State. :mjlol:

None of these folks doing all this rah rah rah shyt are ever gonna post any real receipts of putting a single dime in any of these kids hands to do otherwise. But they'll call you a agent for telling a kid to get the most money they can while they're the ones sacrificing their bodies tho.

Above the fray.
Been tracking higher education developments and Black students in FL on the heels of the Rate This HBCU series last year. Was just gonna add this story in that thread, but wanted to gauge sub-forums' opinions.

Not sure how I feel about this. You're not calling for Black businesses to stop applying for state contracts, you're not asking for Black students to reconsider applying to the same public universities. Even though the current DEI ban applies to them.

Just the athletes?

Athletes and entertainers are not leaders, nor should they be asked to be that. If you build a divest from Florida campaign and it gathers momentum, athletes can choose to add to that with words and actions.

But I think it's a mistake to ask 17 year old kids to lead.

The problem is the black athletes are the only students with leverage. Less black students attending college in Florida is what the conservative politicians want. The only blacks they want in college are the athletes, as they are the ones that make money for the universities. College football is a billion dollar industry. They don't give a damn if Tyshawn doesn't go to one of their schools for engineering; to them, that just means Conner will get that academic scholarship, which is what they prefer.

Same goes for black businesses. These white politicians don't care if black businesses stop supporting these PWI universities; that just opens up a slot to do business with a white corporation. DeSantis and his cronies don't want black people in Florida, period. That's why they keep passing this anti-black legislation, alleging all these initiatives (DEI, CRT, anti-racism) discriminate against white people.
