This more than anything led to the N64's demise. It was a severe achilles heel. Fighting games while not great, weren't bad either, Smash Brothers was easily their best fighter, and one of their only ones. As well as the Mortal Kombat games, outside of that Sub-Zero trash.

Where is this Mario 64 criticism coming from? 
I would place N64 at #6 when it comes to consoles I enjoyed the most. Maybe even #5.
My N64 is still plugged up and I play it on the weekly basis. I'll most likely be playing Smash Bros and Golden Eye till the day they bury me.
