I do recall that, I just figured she became more educated. Cardi is only 31 now and was under 25 when she said she didn't consider herself black. People evolve and change with time, you're supposed to with age, I don't hold that against her----->especially given that she grew up somewhere as colorist as New York, where they exalt "Spanish bytches" unlike anywhere else in the US. She grew up hearing how she was a "bad Spanish bytch", then as she got into her 20s she got more in tune with her blackness...

In the real world some things are held against you, but people are allowed to grow up. Most occasions that aren't criminal or harmed anyone else, you aren't held as the same person you were at like 23, as being the same person at 31. I have two cousins, one of them looks just like her mom, my aunt. The other one looks like MY mom, they even built differently. The one is tall and slim like her mom, the other is short and thicker like my mom, they don't even look like sisters. Same mother and father...

You can't look like Cardi and Hennessey look and not have Afro blood. Her parents are likely mostly something else, but I'd bet she has black thru both parents, hell she's even said she has relatives that are "blacker" than her parents. Some might call cap and that's cool, but she said her dad educated her on their blackness...
