A lot of black and white people are on that wave and it's destroying this country. Beyond the disinformation and fake news, many people have developed an anti-expert/anti-intellectual mindset. "Opinion" has trumped fact for many people. Some will argue who cares, people are gonna believe whatever they want. But the problem is that this starts to have real world implications. We saw this last year with anti-science views that proclaimed COVID to be a hoax. People who won't wear masks, or get vaccinations.

I feel like flat earth is a great indicator for this. If you believe the world is flat, it means you ignore basic reality that can literally be seen with your own eyes. It means that despite having more knowledge at your fingertips than humans who lived in the 3rd century, you're somehow dumber. Just a trip on a plane, or a boat ride...or a variety of other basic things would show you this...yet a lot of people fall down a youtube/facebook wormhole and never recover. This shyt is ruining minds and lives.
