My Theory of why Alita: Battle Angel didn't do well

movie was cool

felt like they tried to fit in way too many ideas.. a lot of them are cool ideas so the world ends up being dope


and the visuals for the fights + motorball make it worth watching the movie just for that


but there's way too much random shyt going on at the same time and the ending is kinda

just end up with a "then what the fukk was all that for?" type feeling


hoping for a pacific rim 2 type miracle sequel to continue the story and because there should just be more movies that look like this

it had some corny/cheesy dialogue in some places but all in all it had a story that keep's you asking for more and more

this movie would have made 700 million+ and had a low 80 score on rotten tomato if it had the marvel logo in front of it the power of brand building

I liked it. Never heard of the source material but this was mostly a trial run for what to expect in the upcoming Avatar sequels with the visuals.

And on the coli this movie would’ve been shytted on for its; weak villain, forced awkward love story, forced woman power pandering agenda, too many jokes and for not being Wonder Women. If it had that Marvel logo in front of it.... among many other things that some would nitpick and gripe about
