I think Hernangomez's ceiling could be Greg Monroe, with a slightly lesser post game, but a better jumper, better mobility and slightly better defender. I've wanted to say that even before the preseason started, but I wanted to see him in some games first.

It feels like I'm gonna killed for this post for some reason....

I am talking about David Lee now. I don't want to start comparing the rook to prime David Lee off a few preseason games. Regardless Willy looks like a keeper, and he needs to get regular minutes from day 1 to help him develop

Willy Hernangomez appears to be our consolation prize for us not having foresight in choosing Tim Hardaway Jr over Rudy Gobert in 2013.

Gotta manage the expectations until we see what he's doing in the regular season with minutes, but I'm pretty excited to see how dude develops for sure. The basketball gods real blessing though was Clarence Gaines, who scouted KP and Willy in one swoop. Even without Willy, the KP call changed the trajectory of the team pretty distinctly. I haven't seen updates on Gaines' daughter lately, but I hope she's doing well because that dude is my favorite person in the organization right now.
