If any nikka comes in here tomorrow...

With a résumé that included shytting on Melo during the years where JR fukking Smith was his no. 2 option...

And says, KP shouldn't be criticized for his performance because he had no help...

I'm going to flip.

I'm just trying to imagine my second favorite current Knick do this for 82 games.

The young man had nothing wrong with him physically/health wise tonight. shyt was all mental and a result of the defense focusing on him.

He struggled because he has trouble playing against Draymond, he's played badly against him every time they've matched up. This is more a result of Draymond being arguably the best defender in the league, and KP trying to back him down or face him up, when he should've been just raising straight up over him and using his length to his advantage. Melo and Rose would've helped him get some open looks sure, but KP still would've struggled one on one regardless.

Also KP isn't above criticism, but he, like any other second year player, deserves some slack since a lot of his issues can be worked out just through experience.

Absolutely agree.

It doesn't touch on the fact that in the 4th, while Dray was on the bench, Porzingis still struggles. We could attribute that to his rhythm thrown off by the earlier defense, though.

And about cutting him slack...I agree. I love Porzingis. My point is context is rarely ever used when discussing certain things.

W/ Porzingis, context is usually there and honest - like what I expect to hear from the experts tomorrow.

Phil's moves? In a vacuum that only includes Noah's contract. Not Porzingis, Noah, Gomez, Kuz, Jennings, Joliday, etc.

Melo's play? No thought about the 54 win season indicative of a Melo willing to actually play well and efficient with a good team. It's just people taking shots at a sample size that overwhelmingly included him literally carrying the team on his back b/c there was no one else.

It's just weird.
