This.

I hear stories that Nazis believed in recycling, protecting the environment and organic fruit... that still doesn't mean they weren't fukked up.

Phil definitely provided solid draft picks and future space.

Doesn't mean that everything else about him from the archaic triangle to further destroying our reputation around the league didn't make him a piece of shyt.

I will never ignore the positives he provided.

Also, I'm pretty sure getting younger, keeping draft picks and getting cap space would have been the objective for whoever got the job when Phil did. That's what the rhetoric was throughout the media and the city.

You realize Masai Ujiri has been around a while right?

And wayyy more people wished Phil's downfall before he started this job than Masai if he took it. Also I don't see how we get Masai without trading a 1st round pick or absorbing Carroll.....

Being that I'm very aware of the world we live in, I gotta view a potential Masai hiring with a side eye. A black man following the leagues all time winningest coach, who now has a tarnished legacy?
The execs around the league will ensure that he fails. They will jump right "on code" despite not having a lot of love for PJax. They won't play ball with him and will try to rape him on trades. Agents will try to rape him in free agency. The NY media will paint him as incompetent. I highly doubt "they" will allow a black face to be a savior of the Knicks on the heels of the colossal failure of one of their favorites.
I'm not saying this is a fact, it's just my opinion. But my opinion is based on facts I observe daily :sas2:

Also Phil was a dikk and fukked up a few times badly but no lie he was the best GM we had since Grunfeld. That is more a statement of how bad prior GM's have been than how good Phil was.

Lmao at this nikka grunfield was one gm before phil lmao and grunfield have up a first for bargarbage nikkas all knicks gm have sucked

Order of business in the next few weeks.

1. Fire Rambis, don't even give him a call out of respect, just tell a friend to tell a friend to tell him.
2. Find a GM who is respected around the league, perhaps give an upcoming person a chance maybe someone like Kenny Smith or go with JVG who is my number 1 choice.
3. Bring back that assistant KP loved so much.
4. Fine a suitor for Melo, if the rockets talk are serious lets make it happen sooner than later, give us Gordon, Capella and a future 1st rounder something like 2020 and beyond.
5. Cut Sasha
6. Trade Lee and Oquinn and possibly Victor Cruz Junior
7. Have a press conference and let the fans know what the 3-5 year plan is, let us know exactly what's happening and I'm sure the fans will be fine with a proper rebuild, also at this conference let it be known KP is our guy and we will be building around him.
8. Free agency, don't any stupid quick fixes, forget rose, blake griffin, paul milsap, jeff Teague types. Target players like Porter and KCP and make those priorities.
