I don't wanna get rid of KP at all. But if dude is disgruntled and unhappy with the franchise, and who can really blame him. Then that suns trade would be the best thing to happen to us. Before that report came out, I was think we might be able to trade KP to boston for that 3rd pick. But give me booker and the 4th pick over the 3rd pick.

Trade melo for love and flip love for that 5th pick with the magic. Then you're looking at this lineup possibly.

PG- Fox (suns 4th pick)
SG- Frank (our 8th pick
SF- Booker
PF- Isaac (our 8th pick)
C- Willy

Every player under 22, have one more bad yr and go for bamba. Then you definitely jump over bucks, maybe even celtics because I haven't seen anything promising from them and are ready to compete against the sixers for the next 10yrs.
How about you just fire the cause of all this disfunction Phil Jackson and keep kp ?!! NBA is a star league

Jimmy apparently turning down Cleveland makes the Melo move seem imminent with how hard the lakers seem to be working to get PG13 right now :banderas:

We might be able to get Love and squeeze a pick out of Cleveland as well :ohlawd:

So Lee and Quinn couldn't have gotten us Russel!! :damn:

To make a move with LA, we'd have had to give them an expiring for cap relief and eat that Mozgov monster. They're gonna try to bring in PG so that they can sign Lebron next offseason and go over the cap to keep George. We couldn't offer the expiring and I'm hoping if we do eat a salary for assets (something I've been supporting for two damned offseasons, so you know I'm with it); I'm hoping it's in a deal with Detroit or Portland for their lottery picks. Originally I was hoping to just get 20 from Portland; but LA just gave up a former top 3 pick who I'd say is worth a late lottery pick. That would make the price of absorbing a crap contract like Mozgov's (or Crabbe's or Turner's), a pick in that 12-18 range. If we're giving back a quality piece like Lee or O'Quinn, we might even be able to demand more depending on how the rest of the market is working.

Side note too: Butler turned down Cleveland. All signs point to PG going to LA. The trade market for a stud SF just dried up immediately. Hayward is still an option to teams with capspace, but once he signs, leftover squads might be more open to a Melo deal and I have to think Cleveland thinks about it long and hard now that their top choices aren't available.
