Chad also saying that Frank wants to be in Dallas and that Mavs have done a better job at building relationships and recruiting.

If we draft him, he can choose to remain overseas, correct?

Couple that with the Mavs discussing a Rubio trade internally and I wonder if they try to do some kinda larger draft night deal to swap with Minne and jump ahead of us. I have no clue what that'd entail or if it could actually be worked out, but it makes me nervous. Everyone applauds the Dallas foreign scouts, Frank's got something they really like.

More love from a reddit post

who do they give up to make that work? Curry? Matthews?

Frank could stay overseas but he was just talking about the Knicks and how he'd fit with KP running pick and rolls last week. His preference could definitely be Dallas, but if they don't trade past us and we want him I'd doubt Phil blinks. As for what pieces Dallas could send to Minne...I keep hearing they want a vet wing but I have no clue how keen on Mathews they'd be or if that'd be enough to trade down with the talent that should still be available.

Take this with a grain of salt, but posters on Realgm say that Ira Winderman told Mike Francesa that the Heat may try to get Melo with a package of Winslow, Tyler Johnson and 14th pick...I'd be all over that, it's too good to be true. I assume that requires Bosh's contract to clear to even be possible in the first place.

Question, if Minnesota is willing to give Rubio away just to dump salary, would you guys do it? Keep in mind he played really well the second half of last season, but who knows if that's sustainable.

Yes yes yes yes yes. At 14 guys like OG Anunoby, Justin Jackson, and Donovan Mitchell could be available too. That's probably the best return for Melo the Knicks could hope for.

That Melo Trade is perfect. Can Mitchell run point? I also like the idea of drafting Isaac too. Have we even worked him out?

Mitchell has some gunner in him but I think his skill set would compliment Frank's while both develop. Dude can shoot, is athletic and has some gunner in him; more polished offense than Frank and still a great defensive player. Plus they have a 7'1 and 6'10 wingspan collectively. Isaac sounds like he has a top 5 guarantee from recent reports but if he dropped, I'd be happy to claim him.

I'll probably be a little bummed if Dallas jumps up and grabs frank ahead of us, but that would mean good players will fall.

I have half a mind to take frank at 8, offer him to the Mavs for the 9 and an unprotected pick next year, and have them draft Monk or Mitchell.
