What sane person would take this stupid trade?I feel like he's a good match next to KP, great rebounder, P&R defender, can finish inside efficiently. Phil wants to get rid of Melo, and LeBron needs more help to counter the Durant acquisition and would love to play with his good friend. It's one of the only places Melo would waive his no trade clause to. Also, I don't think the Cavs can go into next season playing a 6'9 center, their defense was atrocious this year. They have this kid Edy Tavares who is 7'3 and won D-League DPoY.

Two solid 26 year old rotational players (low level 3&D guy in Shumpert, and dominant rebounder, P&R finisher/defender in Thompson) and a first round pick for Melo, a guy Phil desperately wants to get rid of to the only destination he would waive his NTC is a stupid trade?

Outside of all the love for New York, this bit stood out to me. Great mindset for a kid who would have just recently declared for a college program had he been stateside but is playing for a championship in a professional league instead. I was already down with drafting him before this unsolicited praise for NYC.

Maybe Cavs GM Lebron James will now force the Cavs to do what they have to for Melo...still a long shot to me but the Finals might burn badly enough. This dude got Tristan Thompson and JR Smith PAID...maybe he'll force a trade too.
