Portland, Washington, and Miami would all be really good looks for Melo. If he goes to Miami and Pat convinces him to play at the 4 spot though
Portland? Nah man, I don't see it.Portland, Washington, and Miami would all be really good looks for Melo. If he goes to Miami and Pat convinces him to play at the 4 spot though
Wizards ain't tryna pay 4 max dealsPortland? Nah man, I don't see it.
Wizards or the Heat would be good fits though, depends on what they will have to give up. Can't imagine it will be much outside of picks.
Maybe you can try to convince them that with Melo you can make a run these 2 seasons he has left on his deal.Wizards ain't tryna pay 4 max deals
That's that real.
Y'all are desperate if y'all called Clyde
he gonna have a wild ass suit you can't see cuz he's sitting down the whole time?I like to think they wouldn't call to waste Clyde's time
We either staying or moving on up
That's that real.
He has a no trade clause . and the Knicks have to take something in the deal Breh . They'll have to take a Crawford if melo refuses to waive the NTC if they' strip the team , Phil has no real powerHow delusional are they? The Knicks didn't even want a star from the clippers. They just didn't want Crawford. Phil would get rid of melo for peanuts at this point.
Apparently phil turned down the Clippers dealHow delusional are they? The Knicks didn't even want a star from the clippers. They just didn't want Crawford. Phil would get rid of melo for peanuts at this point.
That's not my point. The point was Phil didn't care about gutting the team he wants to sell melo to. All he wants is melo gone without taking on long term deals. Melo does not have leverage here. Phil is more than willing to wait him out and just suck regardless. It's melo that's getting older and his chance at a title dwindlingHe has a no trade clause . and the Knicks have to take something in the deal Breh . And u heard his rant about a quality player back for melo the other day
Hes senile and his mind changes everyday
If I'm melo, I push for a buy out
Phil could of handled this way better

What contending team is a fit though? That Clippers deal was trash cause it cut into the knicks cap space. It sounds like the Clipper could of sent Redikk, Rivers, and the 2021 pick before the trade deadline and Phil would of done the deal, but now Redikk needs an expensive S&T for it to work. I do think its dead and that's why the Clippers leaked it because it's a giant "fukk you" to Phil by lowering Melo's value
Also not even trying to get into a deep debate but the Media telling us Melo shouldn't work with Phil and Mills and be uncooperative is bullshyt. These same reporters shyt on the Knicks and Melo all the time and love to see them be dysfunctional. There is nothing more dysfunctional than Melo saying Waive me. Like you got them saying Melo should go somewhere and no have them send something back for him....... where was that when we gutted the team to get
Kenyon Martin and Capt Jack are not the two guys anyone should go to advice about dealing with NBA team management. They both were bout that action and I am pretty sure you put two less hot headed players up there they would say Melo should take the money to chase a championship and just bounce. Its a have your cake and eat it too scenario. Also Dolan clearly chose Phil's side if Phil feels he can say every chance he gets he wants Melo to leave.
Anyhow here are the following reasons Melo works with Mills and Phil to get this trade done as soon as possible:
Melo WILL likely waive his NTC, but it's dependent on what a contending, or near contending team would offer in return because Phil does have power of accepting or rejecting the deal. We got to wait until the end of the season to see who is willing to move what if both the cavs and celtics come up short (tomorrow's lottery is going to be a big deal too), but odds are Melo is gone.
- He has a 15% trade kicker which means he earns an extra $8m over the last 2 years old his deal if he gets traded.
- The Knicks will most likely NOT sign him at the end of his contract. This means he loses his Bird rights.
- Going to a contender means he can showcase his skills (he is still a high level player) in a winning environment.
- With a contender, Melo is more likely to get a Jamal Crawford type deal at the age of 35 than he would with the Knicks (or any other rebuilding team who would just let his contract come off the books).
- The situation in NY is toxic. Even if he plays well, he can't win. Knicks can't contend, and every loss both makes the fan base upset (why the hell are we still playing Melo if we need to tank?) and further lowers his value as a free agent.
- It has been reported that Melo WOULD waive the NTC to join a contending team

Could San Antonio take Melo? Imagine him in that systemWhat contending team is a fit though?
I don't see Melo going to Memphis
