Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Porter's an RFA though right? I can't imagine the Wizards letting dude walk. Between the rubio and jrue talk, I'm thinking maybe they like one of the Forwards in the top 10. Jackson >>>

He's restricted but their cap situation is pretty bad.

Oh, there's no doubt Josh Jackson is probably Phil's top target, a point forward with size?

You think Melo would step down a bit if they start flourishing along KP?
I think Melo is going to go out and play the game he know how. Which might not bode well for ball movement however, if we pick up a strong headed PG from the draft or free agency, I don't see Melo being the type to complain about not getting the ball this late in his career.

I can never see Melo playing the bench but I do see his usage rate dropping slightly. Side note: I remember hearing Melo's usage rate this year is lowest since rookie year. I don't know if that's still true, though.

I also think Melo will ask to be traded in the offseason, though.

Do you think they will be able to produce at a high level?
You know, from seeing KP's development this year, he really looks like he's going to be dependent on a real leader.

Compete on high level next year? No.

But to be a somewhat competitive team, it's all on who we have running the point.

Dumbass Knicks

You should be looking to draft and develop a PG instead of throwing big money at one in another weak attempt to build around Melo again.:russell:

Band aids over bullet wounds as usual :scust:

I don't see the Pelicans letting him leave since him AD and Cousins are the only legit NBA talent on the roster

But if the rumor is true just the fact we're interested scares me and shows that Melo won't be traded their will be no rebuild and next offseason will be just like the past where we overpay a veteran to try to sneak into the playoffs

The Knicks are not interested in a true rebuild. They want to retool and go for it again. Dolan isn't tryna cancel the annual saying of "the Knicks is takin it this year."

@Mr. Jack Napier my bad for doubting Melo's greatness, we just had a miscommunication on what he was actually great at. He's truly a great superstar when it comes to preserving the tank job, 26 shots and 2 assists with a usage rate of 39? :wow:
I REMEMber 2 year ago pointing out that melo and this team never fit

melo never fit with the knicks.......he is a bigger iverson without the heart and hustle

Tbf it does sound like Phil wants to trade Melo he just hadn't gotten any even ok offers

If he does then that tells me Dolan is definitely staying out of the picture for once. But if their interested in Jrue then how serious is Phil about trading Melo.

Yeah the Wiz got the cap space to Max Otto. KCP is a better option to go after if the plan to target a RFA

Also don't forget Hornecek ran a two PG system with the Suns. Getting a tall PG in FA and drafting a tall PG actually fits into that model

Or he fukked himself over by shytting on Melo through his buddy and social media all the while lowering his value and making it known he wanted him gone. Everyone knows when you bargain you keep your cards close to your chest. He handled the whole Melo situation like an idiot.

:russ: @Malta,@I.V., @tremonthustler1 What do you feel a true rebuild with the Knicks should look like? I'm specifically looking at the next two years.

This is a quick outline I put together.

This season:
  • Losing every game left on the schedule. Getting the highest pick possible.
  • Shutting down KP if he continues to look banged up
  • Knicks are 3-7 in their last ten, which included a last second jumper by melo. Every team below them in the standings (or ahead, depending on how you look at it) has an equal, or BETTER record over their last 10. Obviously I'm not counting the Nets here, because they're 0-10, but everyone else has a chance to out play the knicks down the stretch. If they climb to 4 or 5, that would be really incredible for us.

This offseason:
  • Listening to offers from contenders for Lee (who is better offensively than advertised, but worse defensively) -- preferably for a first round pick.
  • Seeing how the east shakes out, and finding out whether a team that has a shot at the Cavs would be willing to cash chips for Melo (unlikely)
  • Holy fukk do not resign Derrick Rose
  • Drafting the player with the highest possible ceiling with their first pick. Highest positional need is a point guard, but if we end up with the 8th-9th pick, those options might be gone. I really like Jackson/Isaac, in the non PG roles. Of the PGs, I think we'd be lucky to have Fultz, Ball, Smith, or Nkitilina. If they're all gone, you gotta maybe look at one of the bigs.
  • **THIS IS AN EDIT AS I WATCH A GAME LIVE BEFORE THE PRESIDENT SPEAKS** I just watched Tatum finish over a big in this FSU game, if that's something he can consistently do, along with stretching his jumper out to nba distance. He is a lot more interesting to me.
  • Buy a pick in the late first if possible, and looking for either a draft/stash (Jeanne? Lessort?) or a guy who falls for non-basketball reasons (like harry giles, if he continues to struggle to recover from his injury), somebody with one single skill we can utilize, or a guy that you can see stepping in and being a rotation player, a lot of people like Blossomgame in that kind of a wing/forward role. I gotta do some more scouting.
  • Use the second round picks to shoot your shot, or stash guys with potential. Whether that means Alpha Kaba, or guys like Trier/Briscoe/Brooks/Bolden is up to you. I have a lot of work to do on my 2nd round scouting, might wanna ask @Malta or @tremonthustler1 how they've pegged in those ranges.
  • KP continues to get stronger, so he can take advantage of smaller defenders around the hoop.
  • Focus free agency on younger, under-the-radar signings, guys that need opportunity. Terrence Jones, who is already on waivers right now, jumps out at me.
Next Season:
  • Assuming melo is there, next season will look a lot like this season, but with another good young 1st rounder.
  • Stop forcing the fukking triangle, let Hornacek open up the offense.
  • I still think there should be an effort to move Melo for picks/young players if that is possible, because he deserves to have a shot with a good team, and the Knicks aren't anywhere near competing.
  • Demand KP take a more assertive role in the office, attack mismatches, etc.
  • Decide whether guys like Kuzminskas, Baker, etc can be in the future plans.
  • Fire anyone that mentions trading away picks.
  • Set up Joakim Noah in some kind of sextape scandal, and try to get relief from his contract

How low can the Knicks afford to pick in the draft before they are out of legit good prospects at guard? I've read this class is really deep on them. I've seen the top names play a couple of games already but I have no clue how lucky can NY get if they pick in they end up 9-13
