You find Williamsburg dining expensive? :heh:

I'm sorry, but the Williamsburg dining experience doesn't touch whats in the West Village and other places in Midtown.

either way, I just don't find anything great in these new neighborhoods that you can't find in other places. There's nothing unique or special about them.

And being a dude whose actually LIVED in both worlds, I think I have a broad enough scope to say that I found going to old DC, Philly and other black and hispanic enclaves to be more interesting. The experiences were more unique and quite honestly, more interesting.
Both of guys seem to like fine dining, may i suggest the Lion The Lion :ohlawd::win: i took a date here and when i saw the prices i was :beli: but the food was so damn good, i have not eaten in Willaimsburg in a min, what is a good spot out there now?

Fort Greene and Crown Heights are still majority black though.

:huh:if you count the projects. South of myrtle in fort greene is all either white folk, hipster/yuppies, or interracial couples. With black people littered here or there. Only entrenched black presence there are old property owners. A studio apartment in fort greene is $2000 solid. A decent brownstone is $2 million+

Crown heights west of nostrand north of e parkway is the same. this pocket that I mention, I like because its developing but you still get the spillover from what is still crown heights crown heights(east of nostrand/south of EP). and you still got the old neighborhood a walks away:noah:

I dont ever see gentrification hitting E Flatbush or any other areas along the 2 and 5 lines any time soon.

With that said, does anyone else agree with the fact that putting the Citibikes in neighborhoods with hardly any available parking and a ton of bicyclists a silly idea? IMO they should have put some in the nabes where people would opt to ride them instead of driving.

from what I've seen, they're only placed in areas that were "no standing" zones anyway.

@Gallo, I repped you just for dealing with the contrarian @NYC Rebel for several pages. He's the type of dude you say: "The sky is blue" :smugdraper:

he responds:

"Under what predetermined context is the atmosphere designated to be of such a hue? :heh:

Dudes a real life clown, grease paint, red nose & all. Thanks for sonning him to Bolivia :tu:

On Carlton ave in Ft Greene they placed them in places where there was parking. IMO they should place them on the curb not the streets. I still think the jerk chicken hood chinese food types could have used the exercise on those things rather than the hipster stroller having weekend brunch types.

Heard of it. I yelped and saw the decor, remind of Freemans with the American theme....

Freemans Restaurant

Menu looks nice too. Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely eat there.

As for Williamsburg. I can't say it enough. On a nice, sunny, blue sky afternoon do yourself the favor and eat at Aurora. Sit outside, grab the octopus appetizer :blessed: followed by the pork entree :blessed: and last but not least wash it down with a glass dry red wine:blessed: the more wine the better, desert optional.

I know this thread is about NY... but NY TImes is talking about Detroit recently... We are still leaving the areas of the west n East side to be the most dangerous and broken places in America... but private businesses are booming in downtown areas. They want to show on our News how horrible the city is, how violent it is.. so that black feel great about leaving.. Meanwhile whites are flying back in. for the first time black are leaving at rates higher than whites. White are moving back in. During events downtown, you hardly see black people... you wouldn't know that ur in a black city.

Wow. That's on point. Look at this past weekend. The Hoedown and the Grand Prix. A gang of white folks down there. Slowly but surely fam, it's happening. Just look at the Whole Foods in Midtown opening up this week.

lol, I know it sounds silly. Most people wouldn't be able to understand... but most people don't know.. Detroit never gets shyt.. no major grocery stores, no major anything. We are finally have a Meijers and b3w.

Out of nowhere a fukking whole foods. That is a clear sign. There are the economic, gentrification, displacements, real estate issues... but I'd be gottdamn if that whole foods isn't a representation of all that shyt. I still don't know what the thousands of cac riding bikes on some Fridays is about.

But I like whole foods, so I'm kinda glad it's there. The only danger is.. you never saw pawgs til you've seen whole foods pawgs, lol. I try to stay away from white women - those in shape chicks, have bubbles, all of a sudden... buying fresh fruits n shyt smiling at you and letting black dudes smash super quick cuz they're one some free spirit 'new detroit' hipster shyt.

You'd be surprised...people who work at Kings County hospital and students are opting to live over there. Brooklyn College now has dorms, so gonna be a mix.

No, it makes sense to put bikes where there are a ton of people who like to ride bikes. If they'd put in an area where everyone most likely drives, they'd drive right pass the damn bikes everyday. It'll be something to see them in brownsville though.

I'm in Philly and I know exactly what your talking about as far as certain stores coming into your neighborhood. Once whole foods, trader joes, Starbucks, etc hit its gentrification time baby. If your smart and have the money you just get in the game too why let others get all the benefits if you have a chance to get in yourself. This shyt happening all over the country in the major cities

20K purchase... worth 100K.
3K purchase.. worth 14K. But renting it out, overtime will make more.
About to buy (if things aline well) 8K... in a few years because of the development and influx of CAC.. 40K.

The 20K one is damn near priceless tho. I love it when crakers drive slow down the street and try to see who's selling. fukk them. My street has a city councilman, a bunch of CAC, some professors, and young hipster white people. It's better to buy property when no one wants it then sit on it.

Anyway, Yea it's worth investing in if you have real money. There are people who bought abandoned buildings and turned them into luxury lofts. MI is now one of the best places to do business thanks to GOP takeover of state politics.

check out hud listings. IDK, I would say 20k. I also say that you going to show up to house and notice that the wood is over the porch, and the house looks like crap with brand new windows = cac has already got it.

But at this point.. you might have to go further out. Don't do east side tho. try to get as close to downtown... off woodward or grand river. they are building in those directions.
