That's terrible. I feel like a lot of the spots in Bed Stuy are gone now. I hope they're able to re-open.

A damn shame. Basquiat’s gone now this. I remember bouncing between Bedvyne and Vodou back in the day. My youth :mjcry:
Lover Rock down the street closed last.

Imagine being a 90s head and knowing all the spots that have long since closed.

My borough is gone

These cacs really got Bedvyne shut down

i know a lot of dudes are very young here - but imma peep you to something
all the neighborhoods here in NYC that are "black" neighborhoods were made that way because whites with money wanted to move the whites that were there and they used black and brown people to do it-

if you were black the ONLY places you could get an apt ....let alone a home was in a "black" neighborhood .... that was the deal from 1940s-50s until maybe the 2000s -

then them scions of ofays because they listened to rap and wanted to move from their square assed white parents that fled nyc for Ohindianallinoiconsin or where ever the fukk now they are back and they want back the shyt they parents left which is working and
living close to manhattan ( because they cant actaully afford manhattan ) and living "amongst the blacks" because they arent racist... they dont watn the 1hour 2 hour commute that other whites got fooled into tolerating so long as they werent "living near ******s and spics".

but these new generation white kids they claim they care about black issues but they dont give a fukk about the black neighborhood and how those black people lived before them and they want shyt to be on their terms - just like their parents did 50 years ago just like the institutions that ran their mommys and daddies off decades before did

them fukking Citibike racks and bike lanes are them announcing they are coming to take your shyt - them 311 parties about your loud J'ouvert parties and how youre having a BBQ in front of the building .....they dont like that shyt

if you didnt realize it before then recognize it now -

there are some tokens that think they are down - because they can afford a brownstone or a townhouse with Becky and Bradley -but rest assured - they are part of the Theme-park of " a multiracial neighborhood" -

Harlem is already a fukking theme park ride. -

I knew they were coming when they started fixing the lights on Eastern Parkway back in 1989. The second services are enhanced you know others are coming. Seeing the same shyt happening in Newark right now, which hasn’t been upgraded since the In 1967. At Some point, they’re going to move us all in the middle of the country in the middle of nowhere the way shyt is looking,

How do you like Newark? Condo prices in Society Hill are tempting.

It’s basically there already, a lot of development projects have been built (Shaq Tower 2) or developing (Halo Tower) in the past 5 years. It’s crazy, the downtown Newark I grew up in is slowly going away. I’m always :dame: when I see cacs walking their dogs near Military Park lol

I live there now and my boy just moved in a couple months ago. The govt building across Commerce Ct is being converted into apartments. I'm guessing that'll be done in about a year or so but they've been working on it since I moved in here.

And they just broke ground on that new NJPAC development. I believe leasing has begun on the old Ballentine brewery. A bit further out but stuff is popping up everywhere.

Lol. I lived near that Whole Foods there. Unlike the gentrifiers, I was at all the House music events there with real Newark. Felt like old Brooklyn :to:
