There are 34,500 NYPD cops. There are 10,000 LAPD officers. The population of NY is 8,000,000 and the population of la is 3,8000,000. So there are way more cops per person in NY.

The difference is that the NYPD has a HUGE counter terrorism influence so they are definitely way more sophisticated, while the LAPD is way,way harder because of a HUGE anti gang influence.

From my personal experience of spending a lot of time in both places, is that the LAPD is way harder on a nikka. I fukkin got 3 jay-walking tickets, because my boys in LA didnt warn me about that shyt, meanwhile I've never even gotten a ticket in NY in the 20 years I've lived and visited there.

You do realize New Jersey has numerous cities that are on the list of most dangerous cities in the United States right? Newark, Camden, Atlantic City, Paterson, Trenton, Jersey City are all dangerous.

I haven't even gotten into cities like Philadelphia and Baltimore. Las Vegas don't go "harder" than Buffalo in New York. Or cities like New Haven and Bridgeport in Connecticut.

Yeah I know what you meant tho. Ive never dealt with NYPD so I can't really comment. LAPD is very forceful and always has been.

The LAPD has had military grade weapons and vehicles since the 80s.

Are you really talking about them bringing him in 2002, TWO THOUSAND AND TWO, to clean up the streets with some NYPD style of policing that doesn't work in a city like LA due to tons of reasons He came in long after the military crank up and LAPD getting more forceful again that brought the crime down starting in the late 90s moving forward.

Those military style tactics were around long before he got around and they didn't hire him for NYPD policing tactics considering HE borrowed his from LAPD. Like I said, go look it up. No one is making anything up. LAPD has been using military style armored vehicles since the 80s.

Talk about areas and politics in areas you aren't from brehs. The guy was hired to help soften the image of the LAPD

The thing is NJ is a better place to be than 99% of the US. Easy access to NJ and NYC, and everything is so close and easy to get to because of congestion. From where I lived at in north jersey, there were like 30 michelin rated restaurants, 10 home depots, 10 targets, 10 macy's, etc., etc. all within a 20 mile range. The only places I'd rather live than north NJ are SF, LA, and miami, and they aren't as convenient, the weather is just better.
