This album is a masterpiece.
Mary, Puff and Chucky Thompson and Nashiem Myrick helped to define an era with this album.

Only R&B albums I'll put up there with it over the past 25 is Baduizm, Mama's Gun, Voodoo, Brown Sugar, and R. Kelly's second solo album, but I put none above it.

It’s funny I was listening to Mary a few days ago. The 90’s was a goat era for R&B: Mary, Toni Braxton, D Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Mariah, Whitney, Joe, Brian McKnight, baby face, jodeci, boys II men, SWV, tevin Campbell, brownstone, Kelly Price, Janet Jackson, Monica, Brandy, Faith Evans, xscape, en Vogue(early 90’s hold on and my lovin, lol) and so many others.
