if you're black and you're gonna have long hair you gon need:
Moisturizing shampoo made for black hair
Moisturizing conditioner made for black hair
And some shea butter/extra virgin olive oil.

Wash your hair once or twice a week depending on how you like to do it. Condition your hair whenever it starts getting too greasy but you don't wanna dry it out by washing. Put a mixture of shea butter and olive oil melted together in your hair every night. You can apply liberally at night then run a little water through it in the morning and it won't look greasy.

If you style your hair with gels and shyt get products made for black hair. Natural moisturizing products. Don't put chemicals made for white people in your hair will mess you up.

Most important thing is to use good products that are made to keep black hair healthy. Using that generic suave shyt is always gonna fukk you over.
I use herbal essence and organix and my hair is healthy and long. Telling people to use " black stuff" doesn't always work. You should def have castor oil and Shea butter in your staple of hair products. Oh and I've used suave and vo5 and had great results. You just have to use moisturizing conditioners and shampoos

Dry scalp can be caused by:
-not moisturizing enough,
-not producing enough oil to seal in moisture, or by using a strong shampoo which strips the oils off,
-or a dirty scalp which doesn't allow water to penetrate.

To calm a dry itchy scalp, you can use any of the following:
-Apple Cider Vinegar for gentle cleansing and anti-inflammatory/anti-itch properties (rinse hair with one part ACV: 2 parts water; 1 ACV : 3 water for sensitive scalps)
-Tea Tree Oil, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory/anti-itch
-Aloe Vera Juice, anti-inflammatory, moisturizer
-Coconut, olive oil, jojoba to seal

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water, so you can hydrate from the inside out. Avoid, using products with mineral oil, petrolatum, petroleum, etc.

Yeah, breh breh. Your hair is dry because you dont condition it. Your shampoo might be too strong too. It strips the oils which lock in the moisture off your hair.

Soo...

Get a sulphate-free shampoo and a conditioner. Use an oil, butter or gel to seal in the water.

Condition at least once a week. Clarify with shampoo as needed.

I second the Men's line from SheaMoisture.
so would you use shampoo and conditioner in the same day :lupe:

What can I use daily? How do I get my hair to grow faster? What are the benefits of shea butter for hair?

Just make sure you keep it moisturized. You can use water and oil/Shea butter, or buy a leave-in conditioner/moisturizer.

yeah, unless your hair is straight or naturally oily, you should always condition after shampooing.
