if you're black and you're gonna have long hair you gon need:
Moisturizing shampoo made for black hair
Moisturizing conditioner made for black hair
And some shea butter/extra virgin olive oil.
Wash your hair once or twice a week depending on how you like to do it. Condition your hair whenever it starts getting too greasy but you don't wanna dry it out by washing. Put a mixture of shea butter and olive oil melted together in your hair every night. You can apply liberally at night then run a little water through it in the morning and it won't look greasy.
If you style your hair with gels and shyt get products made for black hair. Natural moisturizing products. Don't put chemicals made for white people in your hair will mess you up.
Most important thing is to use good products that are made to keep black hair healthy. Using that generic suave shyt is always gonna fukk you over.
in addition to what @filibuster said, i'd buy this for shampoo and conditioner.

I have that Palmer's Olive Oil, but it is not conditioning enough for me. I do *love* the olive butter stuff for my skin, though. Heals scrapes/scratches/cuts faster!
Currently using Shea Moisture. Try the raw shea butter line, maybe.
(I use the coconut hibiscus and I don't think a man would want to smell like that.)
Edit: they have a mens line: http://www.sheamoisture.com/Mens-Hair-_c_44.html
Yeah, breh breh. Your hair is dry because you dont condition it. Your shampoo might be too strong too. It strips the oils which lock in the moisture off your hair.
Soo...
Get a sulphate-free shampoo and a conditioner. Use an oil, butter or gel to seal in the water.
Condition at least once a week. Clarify with shampoo as needed.
I second the Men's line from SheaMoisture.
Shampoo is like soap. clarifying just means cleaning.
Conditioners are like lotion. It softens.
If you use a strong soap on your skin without lotion, it will dry out. Which is why conditioners are so important.
You can put the conditioner on, then rinse it off. The best thing to do is to let it sit for a few minutes while you are washing your body, then rinsing everything off at once.
Then after depending on your hair type you can put an oil, butter or gel to seal in the moisture. The general rule is if you have straight/fine hair use lighter/thinner products, if your hair is thicker/more textured you can use heavier/thicker products.

I might as well let the shyt stay dry or cut it if I got to put some greasy stuff in it afterwards.Shampoo is like soap. clarifying just means cleaning.

@TooLazyToMakeUp1 you should stop using shampoo, that dries your hair out a LOT.
Use a cleansing conditioner. This is the stuff I've been using for the past 2 months
It was in the shampoo section at sally's and I said fukk it. It says shampoo and conditioner so I figured
@CinnaSlim just schooled me on the difference between the two, but if I'm not suppose to use shampoo, then what?

Breh... You don't have to use hair grease lol. Not all products are the same. If you used products that were super greasy than you either used too much or used a petroleum-based product. You hair can absorb natural products, it doesn't stay greasy.I might as well let the shyt stay dry or cut it if I got to put some greasy stuff in it afterwards.. I have my hands in my hair alot, so I don't want oil, grease and goop all over my gadgets, pens and clothes throughout the day
It grows kinked-out and it looks like a smaller version of this?
Will conditioner make it all fakkity and S-curly like this ?
