Huh? In most adaptations, Superman usually finds out that he has powers when he is a teenager, but sometimes he finds out earlier (like in this show).

This has nothing to do with Superboy
.

Huh? Have you watched a Superman cartoon before lol? Also, your statements don't really have anything to do with what I said.

In most adaptations
, Superman learns to accept his status as "Earth's greatest defender and protector." However, he still deals with the identity crisis of being an "alien" (the persona of "Superman" is his Kryptonian side) while also being a "human" (his alter ego Clark Kent and his adoptive human parents, the Kents).

Superman's attempting to balance those two things are central to his character.
My point is in Smallville, as an adolescent, it makes sense for “ who am I“ to be apart of his struggle. That’s a relatable question.

my statement was they lean too heavily on his Krypton as part of his struggle. So for you to say most adaptations use this identity crisis is exactly what I’m saying is repetitive about how they use his” alieness” for drama. Just find the drama in being Superman and Clark Kent is all I’m saying. Leave the Kal-el/Jor-el stuff out for once.

The fact Superman and Lois mined a different part of his struggle as Superman and father means there are other things to explore about his dichotomy

That happens all the time. Also, that's literally a part of his whole identity crisis. His balancing act as Superman vs. Clark Kent is related to his balancing act as a "Kryptonian" and "human" at the same time. Like I said, it's central to his character.

However, yes, I understand that it can be very repetitive. That's why I usually like when Supergirl is also included in a Superman story because he has another Kryptonian to relate to (who is also his cousin), who ends up having the same identity crisis as him. He no longer has to feel "alone".

Also, when the Zods are involved (as long as they are written correctly), Supes dealing with fellow Kryptonians with an opposing moral code to him is a great dynamic.

You know what I am beginning to lean in more on this somewhat lighthearted take on Superman. It's tough to compete with Superman TAS. I think people over time have realized how good that show was but this is like a light refreshing palette cleanser and that's ok.

It got overshadowed by the GOAT and the other amazing DCAU shows but Superman TAS was excellent and vastly underrated.

On episode 3, yea this kind of boring but I am willing to give it more time

I enjoyed the first two episodes but this show so far is bland. Its not bad but it’s not good. I’ll keep watching but it’s starting to get stale and generic :yeshrug:

Been letting the episodes pile up for that reason. Didn’t seem like a weekly watch to me.

I didn’t even realize Lois is Asian in this.

You might wanna give Lois and Clark a look. It’s on Max. Show from the 90s, I don’t remember there being a ton of Krypton influence. First 2 seasons were great.
